Adding another piece of software does not automatically make an operation more connected.

Order management, dispatch, routing, tracking and billing can all work perfectly well on their own and still leave
teams manually moving information between systems.

The bigger question is whether the tools work together as one operational workflow.

Every manual handoff creates another opportunity for information to change.

An order gets entered. Dispatch updates it. The driver gets new instructions. Delivery information comes back. Then someone has to make sure everything matches before billing.

That is a lot of room for unnecessary admin.

Automation is not about removing people from the operation. It is about removing unnecessary administrative work from the people running it.

With connected workflows, information can move through the operation without constantly being re-entered, copied or chased down.
