An MLR-approved asset is compliant the day it's approved. Nothing guarantees it stays that way through a year-long platform migration, and the moment it doesn't, a field rep is showing a provider something nobody's confirmed is still current.
A merger doesn't answer the questions that actually matter for content already in the field: is it still current, who owns it now, which version is the real one. If those questions depend on someone remembering to ask them, that's a real risk, especially while the team responsible is also focused inward on integration.
We work closely with healthcare and life sciences teams on exactly this problem, real people invested in the actual provider relationship, not a queue inherited from someone else's merger. Approved content stays approved, and retires on its own the moment it's not. The vendor's own roadmap reveal lands in mid-October, right when still-deciding customers are most likely to get pulled back in. We broke down what a vendor merger actually means for MLR content management. Link in the comments!
