Aardvark Letterpress was established in 1968. We are a family business built by Luis Ocon and his sons, Brooks and Cary. Aardvark is located in the historic Artists’ Colony just west of Downtown Los Angeles across from historic MacArthur Park. We take tremendous pride in our work and everything we do is guaranteed. Recently we had the pleasure of visiting the new Soho showroom of our esteemed client JACQUES MARIE MAGE . We were given a tour and able to try on as many glasses as we liked. Since we do so much work with them it is nice to finally be able to put a frame to the name 🕶️!

A huge thank you to Erin for facilitating this and to Isabell for giving us the tour! We hope to be visiting their other showrooms all around the world on future travels.

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our brother, friend, and colleague Brooks Ocon. It was a pleasure and a privilege to know him. His spirit lives on in the shop that he loved so much and spent the last 50 years working at. He will forever be missed and never be forgotten❤️

The International Printing Tour marches on! Where are Enzo and Jon headed to next? Why Germany🇩🇪 and Switzerland🇨🇭of course! They are going to be attending Gmund Paper’s Unfolded Festival, visit the historic paper mill in Basel, and see Johannes Gutenberg’s hometown of Mainz. Plus many other print shops and museums along the way. And don’t forget - from now on, every print we do for a trip will be offered to anyone who comes into the shop and asks for one (while supplies last)!

April 7 was Bill’s birthday! He is now 72 years young🎉🎉 Where would we all be without Bill? Probably standing in front of a Linotype or Heidelberg with tools in our hands, confusion in our heads, and tears in our eyes. He imparts his knowledge on us, but also provides us with many a laugh and countless stories. So in his honor, look at some photos of the old Pacific Electric Red Cars🚃🚃, load your pocket protector to the max, and take a trip out to the nearest Cracker Barrel.
