Nicole Katz has spent her career at creating thousands of handcrafted projects for clients and collaborators big and small. This week marks her final one at the shop she grew up in. Days after she was born, Nicole began coming to the business with her parents, who started Paper Chase with one employee in the basement of their apartment building. Printing has been in the Katz family for three generations, starting with her grandfather, Moshe, who spent years filling ink cartridges for Gestetner. Her father later sold presses for the same company before meeting his wife and founding their business. Through them, Nicole learned how to run Paper Chase and, most importantly (because it was all her dad ever talked about), how to make beautiful printed work. Later this month she’ll be joining the publications team at Getty, and although printed material is preferable, she’s always up for a digital line or two: 🤍
