Too many edge AI projects select hardware purely based on TOPS number. In real factory deployments, raw NPU theoretical performance often tells only half the story.

The real bottlenecks are usually:
• Camera interface bandwidth & ISP capability
• Thermal limits under 24/7 continuous operation
• Long-term BSP support & firmware security
• Power budget in cabinet environment

For industrial edge vision, stable inference and hardware lifecycle beat peak TOPS.

What's your biggest edge AI hardware bottleneck in field?

Fascinating discussion: Will agentic AI end the web as we know it?
One angle the video touches on: we’ll shift away from clicking web pages toward AI agents completing tasks for us.
At DEBIX, we’re building edge hardware to host these local AI agents, for smart IoT, machine vision & on-device automation.
Do you think edge devices will become the main home for future AI agents?

What's the difference between IoT and IIoT? 🤖
IIoT = IoT for industry: machines + sensors + analytics working together to run manufacturing smarter.

Quick video from Galco explains the basics in minutes — perfect for anyone getting started with Industry 4.0.
Edge gateways (like our DEBIX computers) sit in the middle: collect → process → send to cloud.

Where does your IIoT project start? 👇

I/O isolation on industrial panel PCs isn't a cost decision—it's a reliability decision.
Isolated I/O: Galvanic barrier between logic and field wiring. No shared ground.
• Kills ground loops
• Absorbs surges (1.5kV–2.5kV)
• Protects motherboard from shorts
• Cost: Higher BOM, negligible delay

Non-Isolated I/O: Shared ground plane.
• Cheaper, faster, simpler
• Risk: Ground potential difference → signal drift, false triggers, fried CPU

Bottom line: VFDs, long wiring, or multiple grounding points? Isolation isn't optional—it's insurance.

Reliability isn't tested in the lab. It's proven on the factory floor.
