Why do some systems become harder to manage as they scale? The problem is often architectural.

Traditional scale-out designs can introduce bottlenecks around metadata, controller nodes, rebalancing, and coordination. As more nodes are added, complexity can increase instead of performance.

takes a different approach. Its distributed architecture removes fixed controller roles, stores metadata with the object itself, and allows every node to participate in handling requests, background operations, repair, and rebalancing.

That means adding a node doesn’t just add capacity — it also adds processing power, throughput, and resilience. This architectural model is especially valuable in high-throughput environments such as backup, media, medical imaging, surveillance, and active archives.

Storage used to sit quietly in the background of the compliance conversation. Not anymore.

As regulatory requirements around cyber resilience, recovery, and accountability increase, organizations are being asked to demonstrate more than simply having security tools and backups in place.

The questions are becoming much more specific:
🔐 Can you prove your critical data is recoverable?
🛡️ Can you trust that your recovery points haven’t been compromised?
🔎 Can you show who changed what and when?

Having backups is only part of the answer. Organizations need recovery data they can trust, verifiable data integrity, and a clear audit trail of actions affecting critical systems.

Because when an audit or cyber incident happens, “we have backups” is not the same as “we can prove we can recover.”

Storage is where the data lives. Now it’s also where compliance evidence lives.

Keep the Storage. Lose the Bottleneck.

Many teams already own plenty of storage. The problem is that it was bought for capacity, not for the speed demanded by , simulation, analytics, and other compute-heavy workloads.

Replacing it means writing off a major investment. offers a different path: keep existing NAS, object, cloud, or archive storage in place, while adding a high-performance layer for active workloads and a single namespace that lets teams work across it all.

Your existing storage stays in the workflow. helps make it part of a faster environment, within a single namespace. Learn more: https://www.datacore.com/products/nexus/
