A grandparent can hear their own grandchild's voice on the phone and still be talking to a Scammer.

All it takes is a few seconds of audio from social media for AI to clone a voice convincingly. That's why these calls feel so real: a panicked grandchild, an accident, and money needed right away. By the time anyone stops to think, the money is usually gone.

So the best protection is the one you set up before the call ever comes. Agree on a family safe word today, and if it doesn't come up on the call, hang up and call your grandchild back directly.

And if someone in your family has already been through this, it's not their fault, and the next step matters. Report it through Unscammed, and one report reaches the FBI, the FTC, the police, and your bank, free and in under 10 minutes. Every report is what helps get these Scammers caught.

Share this with the grandparents in your life, because a safe word only works if they know about it.

Your data doesn't just disappear after a breach. It gets sorted, priced, and sold.

Name, phone, and email go for about $1. Credit card details are worth $10. Medical records sell for $150 because they're harder to come by and harder to flag as stolen. Sealed court records go for $300 for the same reason.

That gap comes down to one thing: permanence. A stolen card gets cancelled in a day. A password gets reset in a minute. But a sealed court file, your health records, your SSN, those don't expire. Once they're out, they're out for good.

So how does your information end up on that list in the first place? Two main ways. A company you trust gets breached and your data gets dumped in bulk, or you respond to a Scam even once and get flagged as a real, live target.

Either way, the scale is bigger than most people realize. One database discovered in 2025 held 16 billion rows of login credentials alone, sitting in a single place.

And once you're on that list, you're worth more than a random number. A verified contact tied to real, working information sells at a premium, which is exactly why Scammers keep coming back to the same people again and again.

The real defense is limiting what you hand over in the first place. Don't respond to unknown numbers or texts. Don't click unfamiliar links, even out of curiosity. And check whether your information has already been exposed.

If you ever get a call or message that already seems to know too much about you, report it through Unscammed.

That "allow" you tapped without thinking twice? That's exactly what a is counting on.

Plenty of these apps make it onto the or by looking completely ordinary at first, a simple game, a flashlight, a photo editor. Once they're approved and downloaded, that's when the real behavior kicks in. They ask for permissions that have nothing to do with what the app actually does, and if you tap "allow" without checking, they get exactly what they wanted.

From there, they run quietly in the background. Your name, phone number, email, location, even your payment methods, all of it becomes accessible while you go about your day, completely unaware.

And that's how it turns into real financial loss, unauthorized charges and drained accounts, all traced back to one app you barely remember installing.

Deleting it after the fact won't undo any of that. But reporting it can.

You keep getting scam calls. Ever wonder why you're the one being targeted?

Here's why: a lot of us don't realize our personal data is already public.

It's sitting in data broker sites, online directories, public records, past breaches, and the dark web.

Scammers pull from all of it to target the people most likely to respond, and who that is often comes down to age.

FTC data from 2025 shows exactly how that plays out.

Adults under 50 lost $2.3 billion, mostly to shopping, job, and investment scams.

Adults 50 and older lost $4.3 billion, driven by investment, tech support, and romance scams, and that's only what got reported.

If you've been scammed, gather what you can and submit it to Unscammed.

We report it to the FBI, FTC, the police, and your bank, all in under 10 minutes. Free.

Behind every fraud statistic is a very deliberate strategy.

Adults 60+ lost $7.75 billion in 2025, and it's not because they're careless, it's because they're the highest-value target: more savings, more equity, more retirement funds concentrated in one place.

That's why the schemes built for them look nothing like the obvious ones. The costliest, "pig butchering," runs for weeks before a single dollar changes hands, building trust long before asking for it.

Recognizing the strategy is the first line of defense. Reporting it is the second, and it's the one most people skip.

If it's happened to you or someone you love, report it through unscamed.com.

Americans lost around 8 billion dollars to investment Scams in 2025, more than any other Scam out there, and they all work the same basic way.

Crypto, real estate, doesn't matter, the pitch is always that your money grows faster here. You put in a little, it goes up, you ask for some back, and they let you, that's the exact moment you start trusting it. So you go bigger, and that's when it turns, fees show up, and suddenly you're just chasing your own money.

If this happened to you, you didn't fall for something stupid, this was built to be believed. Staying quiet just lets it happen to someone else next.

So don't delete anything. Save their number, the company name, the website, your payment history, and their bank details, that one matters most, since their site disappears but that account doesn't.

Then report it through Unscammed. We send it to the FBI, FTC, police, and your bank, all in under 10 minutes.

Meta removed over 159 million Scam ads and 10.9 million fake accounts across Facebook and Instagram last year, and the same handful of tricks kept showing up on Facebook Marketplace.

Rentals listed far below market price. Fake giveaways promising you've "been selected." And sellers pushing you to pay outside the app with a discount as bait.

None of it was real. The rental never existed, the giveaway just wanted your card details, and paying outside the app meant zero protection the moment it went wrong.

If this happens to you, don't just block and move on. Save their username, phone number and email, their profile link, the bank account number and bank name they used, and screenshots of the listing and full conversation.

Without that, there's nothing to trace the Scammer back to.

Then report it through Unscammed.

We'll send it straight to the FBI, FTC, your bank, and the police, all in under 10 minutes.

A stranger sends you $1,000 out of nowhere, then asks for it back. It feels like the right thing to do, so you send it.

Here's what actually happened: that money came from a stolen card, disguised as a protected payment. Once the real cardholder notices, the payment reverses too, straight out of your balance. You end up covering both sides.

If this happens to you, save everything before you do anything else: their phone number, username, profile link, the transaction ID, the bank they're using, and screenshots of the full conversation. Without it, there's nothing to trace the Scammer back to.

Then report it through us. We'll send it to the FBI, FTC, your bank, and the police in under 10 minutes.
