This might be the best description of youth sports parenting I’ve seen in two numbers:

89% say the benefits of youth sports outweigh the drawbacks.

84% still say scheduling and logistics are a challenge.

Of course they do.

We can love watching our kids play and hate the Tuesday-night scramble to make practice.

We can believe the friendships, confidence and lessons are worth it and be exhausted by the driving, packing, schedule changes, sibling juggling and entire weekends built around games.

Those aren’t contradictions.

They’re basically youth sports parenting.

Maybe loving the activity was never the problem.

So, sports parents: if you could magically eliminate one logistical headache from your family’s activities, what would it be?

68% of sports parents have seriously considered pulling their child out of sports.

That number stopped me.

Because I don’t think most parents are sitting in the car thinking:

“This isn’t worth it.”

It’s usually more complicated than that.

Your kid can love their sport.

You can love watching them play.

You can see the confidence, friendships and growth they’re getting from it.

And you can still sit in the parking lot sometimes and think:

This is a lot.

The registration fee.

Equipment.

Travel.

Meals.

Training.

Leaving work early.

Getting siblings where they need to go.

The texts. Schedule changes. Packing. Driving. Weeknights. Weekends.

An activity can be great for your child and demanding on your family.

Both things can be true.

So I’m curious what other parents are experiencing:

What’s become the hardest part of youth sports for your family — money, time, travel, or just the mental load of keeping everything moving?

Practice is at 6. Someone needs a ride. The water bottle is still on the counter. 😅

There’s a lot of planning behind one kids’ activity.

ACTIQO helps your family keep schedules, pickup plans, what to pack and reminders together, so whoever is handling the activity has the details.

Here’s a 24-second look inside.

What’s the detail your family is always chasing down before leaving?

Practice ends.

You ask, “How’d it go?”

Maybe they loved it.

Maybe it was rough.

Maybe they were completely wiped afterward.

Maybe nothing remarkable happened at all.

Most of those moments disappear into the week.

ACTIQO Check-Ins give parents a quick way to capture what they noticed after a practice, game or lesson — attendance, enjoyment, energy and anything worth remembering.

It takes seconds.

But over a season, those small moments can become something much more useful:

a pattern.

Not to tell you whether your child should keep going or quit.

Not to replace the conversation.

Just to help you remember it.

One practice is a moment.
Over time, you see the story.

Soccer at 5:30 isn’t the plan.

It’s one line on the calendar.

The plan is:

When do we need to leave?

Who’s taking them?

What needs to be packed?

What can’t we forget today?

Does everyone know who’s responsible for what?

That’s why ACTIQO has Game Plans.

For each activity, families can keep the preparation, responsibilities and important details together — instead of reconstructing the plan from texts, emails and memory right before it’s time to leave.

Your calendar tells you where to be.

ACTIQO helps your family get there ready.

ACTIQO is now available on iOS.

Kids’ activities rarely fit into one calendar event.

There’s the schedule.

Then there’s when you need to leave. What they need to bring. Who’s responsible. The reminders. The costs. How it went. And all the little things families try to remember from one week to the next.

That’s why I built ACTIQO.

ACTIQO is a family activity intelligence app that helps parents coordinate kids’ sports and extracurricular activities — and better understand the time, cost, energy and family workload surrounding them.

You can:

• Keep the family aligned around upcoming activities
• Build a Game Plan for what needs to happen before it’s time to go
• Know when to leave and who’s responsible
• Capture quick check-ins after practices, games and lessons
• Track activity costs
• See patterns over time instead of relying on memory

The goal was never to build another family calendar.

It was to build the layer around the calendar that families are already managing in their heads.

Today, that product is officially out in the world.

ACTIQO is now available on the App Store ⬇️

“How was practice?”

“Good.”

If you’re a parent of a kid in sports or extracurricular activities, you’ve probably had some version of that conversation.

And honestly, “good” might be all there is to say that day.

The interesting part is what happens over time.

They couldn’t wait to get to soccer three weeks ago.

Last week they were exhausted afterward.

Today they didn’t want to go.

Next week they might love it again.

Any one of those moments can mean almost nothing.

But remembering them together can tell you something.

That’s part of what we’re building ACTIQO around.

ACTIQO helps parents coordinate kids’ sports and activities and capture simple check-ins around things like enjoyment, energy and attendance, so those small moments don’t have to disappear into memory.

Not to replace conversations with your child.

Not to score whether an activity is “good” or “bad.”

Just to help you remember what you’ve been seeing and hearing over time.

Because sometimes “good” is just good.

And sometimes the pattern says more.

A family schedule can tell you your child has soccer every Tuesday.

It can’t tell you whether soccer is still working for them.

Are they excited to go?

Coming home energized or exhausted?

Starting to resist practices they used to look forward to?

Was last week just a bad week — or is something changing?

Those questions are hard to answer from memory because the signals don’t usually arrive all at once.

That’s one of the reasons we’re building ACTIQO.

ACTIQO is a family activity intelligence platform that helps parents coordinate kids’ activities and capture simple check-ins over time — so individual practices, games and lessons can become useful patterns instead of disappearing into the week.

Not to make the decision for parents.

To give them better information when it’s time to make one.

The schedule tells you what’s happening.
The pattern helps you understand how it’s going.

We missed another internal launch target this week.

And I’m okay with that.

The final stretch for ACTIQO turned into more than uploading a build. We found places where the core experience deserved another pass, finished a significant UX and brand update, ran deeper QA and security checks, and made sure the product we’re putting in front of families reflects where ACTIQO has evolved.

The web experience is already live.

The iPhone experience is now in Apple’s hands.

I’ve learned that there’s a big difference between being able to ship and being ready to invite strangers into something you’ve spent months building.

So there’s no new date announcement today.

Just the next milestone:

ACTIQO for iPhone is coming next.

Everything around kids’ activities — schedules, preparation, responsibilities, costs, check-ins and the patterns that help families make better decisions over time.

School is back.

And somehow, that means everything else is back too.

Soccer practice.

Dance.

Lessons.

Clubs.

Homework.

School events.

Birthday parties.

And the texts, emails, forms, equipment, pickups, drop-offs, reminders, schedule changes and “Wait, who’s taking her?” surrounding all of it.

September isn’t necessarily hard because families have too many things on the calendar.

It’s hard because every one of those things creates work around the calendar.

That’s the problem we’ve been building ACTIQO to help with.

Not just knowing where your family needs to be.

Knowing what needs to happen next.

If your family is looking at September and thinking “here we go…” you’re exactly who we’ve been building this for.
