You don’t need more projects to have more to post.

You probably already have a YEAR of content sitting inside the homes you’ve already built.

The problem is that most builders market a project one way:

Beautiful finished photos.
A few details about the home.
“Another custom home completed.”
And then they move on.

But the same home can tell completely different stories depending on the angle.

You can talk about the dream your client wanted.
The frustration they were trying to solve.
The way their family actually lives.
The tiny design decisions that make everyday life easier.
The beliefs people have about custom building that aren’t quite true.
Or the difference between a house that looks beautiful and one that was actually designed around the people living in it.

Same project. Completely different reason for your future client to care.

That’s what good marketing does.

It doesn’t just show people what you built.

It helps them picture what their life could look like if you built it for them.

Ready to turn your projects into a year of content?

Inside of BuildMarketing, we’ll help you take one project and turn it into months of marketing with shot lists, captions, content ideas, sales angles like these, and more already built and ready for you to use.

One of the coolest parts of marketing your business is realizing you actually get to choose who you want more of.

Not in a “I’ll only work with this exact type of person” way.

But in the way you talk about your work, the projects you show, the problems you speak to, the details you highlight, and the words you use.

All of that tells certain people, “This is for you.”

So think about the project you LOVED.
The client you’d happily work with again.
The type of home you want to build more of.

Talk to them.

Your marketing doesn’t have to appeal to every person who could possibly hire you. It should help the right people recognize themselves in your work.

And you have full permission to change your mind.

You might choose your “ideal client” today, work with someone six months from now who feels even more aligned, and realize, “Ohhhh… I want more of THIS.”

Then your marketing changes with you.

I do this constantly in my own business.

Your ideal client isn’t something you choose once and get locked into forever. It gets clearer as you grow, get more experience, and learn which projects and people bring out your best work.

So pick someone to talk to today.

You can always refine from there.

And if you’re ready to take your marketing more seriously, comment START26 and I’ll send you a link to our exclusive community for custom home builders where we’ll help you market your business.

One of the easiest ways to instantly clean up your construction Instagram feed:

Stop making the “before” photo the first slide of your before + after carousel.

I know it feels natural to show the transformation in order…

Before → After.

But your ideal client probably isn’t studying every post on your page. They’re quickly scanning your profile trying to answer:

“Do I like their work?”

If half of your grid is demolition, unfinished drywall, old kitchens, construction mess, or dated spaces, they may assume that’s your actual portfolio.

Instead:

Lead with the finished project.

Make your best completed photo slide #1.

Then add the before photos, progress photos, details, and transformation behind it.

You can even add:

“Swipe to see the before 👀”

Your finished work should be the star of your feed.

It’s a tiny change, but it can make your entire profile feel more polished almost immediately.
