We’re heading to Chicago!

Design Edge is excited to once again be part of the People of Play™ Global Inventor Pitch & Innovation Conference, November 5–7.

This is one of the best opportunities of the year for inventors to get in the room with the people who actually make things happen in the toy and game industry. More than 80 executives representing 60 companies are expected, along with speed pitching, mentoring, panels, and plenty of opportunities to learn how an idea goes from concept to shelf.

Our President & Creative Director, Matt Nuccio, will be participating as a speaker and representing Design Edge throughout the conference.

For nearly 40 years, Design Edge has worked with inventors, startups, and established toy companies to develop, engineer, manufacture, and bring new products to market. We’re excited to share that Design Edge President & Creative Director Matt Nuccio will be joining an incredible panel of industry experts tomorrow for Astra’s “Identifying the Next Big Toy Trend Before It Hits.”

Matt will join Alee Lees of Learning Express Toys, James Zahn of The Toy Book, and Dan Rowen of Prime 3D., with the discussion led by Tom Rushton.

The conversation will explore where trends begin, what retailers are looking for, and how the growing kidult and pop culture markets are shaping the next generation of toys.

An important read from Kathrin Belliveau and The Toy Association on why toys and games should remain tariff-free.

The toy industry supports hundreds of thousands of American jobs, from designers and inventors to marketers, retailers, logistics companies and manufacturers. At the same time, our industry relies on a highly specialized global manufacturing infrastructure that has been built over decades.

Tariffs on toys ultimately add costs throughout that system, costs that can affect American companies, small businesses and ultimately, families.

Inventors — if you have a toy or game idea you think is ready for the next step, this is a great opportunity to get it in front of the right people.

Each year, The Toy Association, working with the United Inventors Association (UIA), brings Creative Factor: Inventor Day to Toy Fair® to help connect independent inventors directly with toy companies looking for what’s next.

Selected inventors get the opportunity to pitch directly to inventor relations executives and manufacturing partners. Past participants have pitched to companies including Hasbro, Spin Master, Crayola, Jazwares, Goliath, Melissa & Doug, Asmodee, The Op Games, Connetix and others — with some of those conversations leading to partnerships and licensing deals.

Design Edge president, Matt Nuccio, joined Steve Greenberg at the NHS: Concept to Commerce show in Las Vegas, along with fellow United Inventors Association (UIA) members Carmine Denisco and Joelle Flynn, plus Chris Berry, to see if a room full of invention people could figure out the mystery product.

Considering how many products and inventions this group has seen over the years, you’d think this would be easy. ....It wasn’t.

Design Edge is proud to congratulate our CEO and Creative Director, Matt Nuccio, on receiving an Award of Appreciation from IFIA for his service as a jury member at the 2026 Silicon Valley International Invention Festival (SVIIF).

It was an incredible event bringing together inventors and innovators from more than 30 countries, with support from WIPO, the United Nations, Google, and the United Inventors Association (UIA).

Congratulations to Matt and everyone who made SVIIF 2026 such a success!

Flip Pro started as an idea and, through product development, engineering, branding, packaging, and licensing, became the exciting stunt bike you see today.

At Design Edge, we love helping inventors and companies transform great ideas into market-ready products—and seeing them succeed is the best part of what we do.

The excitement doesn’t stop here. The Flip Pro line is being significantly expanded for the next series, with new bikes, accessories, stunt sets, and even more ways to play. We can’t wait to share what’s coming next!
