Think about the last time you were researching something new: a restaurant, hotel, tour, or experience.

You probably found a few options that looked great... until you read the reviews.

Maybe one glowing review convinced you to click “Book Now.” Or maybe a few negative comments sent you right back to the search results.

You’re not alone. 97% of consumers read reviews for local businesses, and 85% say positive reviews make them more likely to choose a business.

So here's the question: How often have reviews convinced you to choose a business, or to keep looking for another option?

For adventure operators, reviews aren't just nice feedback. They're part of the research process and can be the proof a future guest needs to take the next step.

There’s something about being on the water before the rest of the world wakes up.

The early alarm is a little easier, watching the sky slowly turn from dark to gold, and casting a line as the sun comes up, really can’t be beat🌅🎣

For Brenna Hasty, our President, it was one of those Texas mornings that reminds you why the best stories usually start when you step away from the desk and say yes to the adventure.

And honestly? There is no better way to spend a weekend.

What makes The Flybook different? A lot of it comes down to where we came from, and the people behind the product.

We’ve spent 20 years building reservation software for the outdoor recreation industry, and 70% of our team has direct experience working in the industries we serve.

Flybook started as a solution for fly fishing businesses, and over the years, we’ve grown alongside our customers to support rafting, tours, rentals, lodging, adventure parks, and more.

We also believe the little things matter; like creating swag people actually want to use, not just another logo on a t-shirt. 😉

So yeah… apparently, all of that is pretty chic.

But more than anything, it’s what makes Flybook, The Flybook: industry experience, a product built with our customers in mind, and a team that genuinely understands the world we’re building for.

Swipe through for a few things we think are pretty chic. ✨

A guest arrives in town with a free Saturday morning.

They don’t have a specific activity in mind. They just know they want to do something fun.

So instead of searching for one activity, checking its availability, backing out, and repeating the process, what if they could simply say:

“What’s available Saturday morning?”

That’s the idea behind Activity Availability by Date in Flybook.

Guests can search based on their schedule, see the experiences that fit, compare options, and book, all from one place.

Because sometimes guests don’t know what they want to book yet. They just know when they’re free.

And making that first step easier can make all the difference.

There’s something fitting about seeing the Flybook van packed up and ready to hit the road.

Because hitting the road has always been part of the Flybook story. 🚐

20 years ago, Flybook began as a solution built for fly fishing outfitters. As the team traveled, met with operators, and listened to what was happening on the ground, something became clear: the challenges of running an outdoor business extend far beyond fly fishing.

The best ideas didn’t come from sitting behind a desk. They came from getting out there and talking to the people doing the work.

Road trips turned into onsite visits. Onsite visits turned into conversations. Conversations turned into new ideas, new features, and eventually a platform that could support all kinds of businesses in the outdoor recreation space; from outfitters and tour operators to lodges, ranches, rentals, and activity providers.

That tradition is still part of who Flybook is today.

As summer cools and conference season approaches, we're looking forward to loading up, getting back on the road, seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and, most importantly, listening.

Because there’s no better way to understand the challenges of running an adventure business than to experience a little bit of the adventure yourself.

And if we can sneak in a few good adventures of our own along the way… even better. 🏔️

Here’s to the road ahead.

Great hospitality doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built into the experience.

How can technology help operators deliver a more consistent, personal, and memorable guest experience, without making hospitality feel less human?

Flybooker Jess Ary recently joined Tourpreneur For Tour Operators/Experiences Professionals for a conversation about exactly that: How Technology Creates Quality Hospitality.

From streamlining the behind-the-scenes details to giving staff more time to focus on guests, the right technology can make great hospitality easier to deliver, and easier to repeat.

Some of the best workdays don’t look much like workdays at all.

Flybooker Andy Gonyou spent some time on the water with Stephen Foy from Nantahala Outdoor Center, fishing their way through the Smoky Mountains. 🎣🏔️

And that’s something we’ve come to really appreciate about working in the outdoor industry. The longer you’re part of it, the more the lines between customers, coworkers, industry friends, and adventure buddies start to blur.

Relationships aren’t only built across conference tables or during calls about software. Sometimes they’re built standing knee-deep in a river, floating a stretch of whitewater, clipping into a zipline, hiking a trail, or swapping stories at the end of a long day outside.

We’re lucky to work in an industry full of people who genuinely love what they do, and even luckier when we get the chance to get out there and enjoy it alongside them.

Because at the end of the day, this is why so many of us got into the outdoor industry in the first place: more time outside, good people to share it with, and plenty of excuses to call an adventure a workday. 🤘

Technology powers what we do, but people and adventure are why we do it.

The outdoor industry isn’t just another market to us. It’s a community built on relationships, memorable experiences, and time spent outside. We believe the best technology comes from people who understand all of that firsthand.

So we are sharing a few photos from the team, giving some firsthand captures of our staff living the dream.

1. More than 70% of the Flybook team has firsthand experience as guides, operators, managers, or outdoor recreation professionals. Flybooker Angel Renee on the Gauley isn’t a staged marketing photo; it’s her home river. When you’ve lived the work, you build better tools for the people doing it every day.

2. Flybook is headquartered in Bend, Oregon, with teammates spread across the country. Our offices don’t always have four walls. Sometimes they’re a truck camper, a mountain town, or the trailhead before the workday begins. 📸: Flybooker Jeremy Bowler

3. All work, no play? Not around here. Whether you're like Flybooker Jess Ary exploring the red rocks of the desert west, or paddling rivers, or finding any reason to wear a ridiculous costume, we believe having fun outside makes us better teammates and better partners to the businesses we serve.

4. No dogs at the office? That rule would never last. Dogs (along with plenty of other pets) are regular attendees on our video calls and a big part of the Flybook family. 📸: Flybooker Samir Moussawel of his dog Ollie

5. Foreign outsourced customer service? Not at Flybook. When you reach out, you’ll connect with our U.S.-based Advisory Team. Real people who know the outdoor industry, understand your business, and are ready to help. 📸: Flybook Advisor, Laura Kinney out on a fun whitewater day

At the end of the day, we’re proud to build software for an industry we’re lucky enough to live ourselves. We think that perspective makes all the difference. 🌲
