☕🌱 VIETNAM COFFEE CROP 2026/27

October marks the beginning of Vietnam’s new coffee season.
🇻🇳 PRODUCTION OUTLOOK
USDA FAS currently forecasts Vietnam’s 2026/27 coffee production at 32.5 million 60-kg bags, equivalent to around 1.95 million MT, compared with 31.7 million bags in the previous crop.

🌿 Robusta remains dominant, with an estimated 31.4 million bags, keeping Vietnam a key origin for global Robusta supply.

📦 EXPORTS REMAIN STRONG
During the first 8 months of 2026, Vietnam exported around 1.33 million MT of coffee, valued at approximately US$6.03 billion.

While the new crop is currently forecast to be higher, weather conditions, El Niño risks, harvest progress and crop quality could influence the final production outcome.

🌾🇵🇭 PHILIPPINES CONTINUES TO NEED MORE IMPORTED RICE

The Philippines is expected to import up to 5 million tons of rice in 2026 – a significant figure for the global rice market.
📦 By mid-August, the country had already imported around 3.46 million tons of rice.
🇻🇳 Notably, Vietnamese rice accounted for around 74% of the Philippines’ total rice imports.
🇯🇵 Meanwhile, Japan is also expected to import around 210,000 tons of rice this year.

The Philippines – one of the world’s largest rice-importing countries – is making several notable moves in the rice market.
📌 The Philippines Will Continue Rice Imports
