In observance of World Environment Day 2026, we took a moment to reflect on how sustainability shows up in our everyday actions.

This video captures simple practices across our offices - from proper waste sorting and recycling, to rinsing containers before disposal, finding ways to upcycle, and choosing to donate rather than discard.

Through these collective actions, we aim to foster greater awareness and encourage consistent, responsible habits across our workplace and beyond.

NEC is proud to support the progressive rollout of for the immigration clearance of motorcyclists at Singapore's land checkpoints, first launched at Woodlands Checkpoint on 31 March 2026. Implemented in close partnership with the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), this marks another milestone in our long‑standing collaboration. 🙌

Improving throughput at Singapore’s busy land checkpoints, especially for motorcyclists 🏍️ 🛵 commuting between Singapore and Malaysia, has long been a shared priority. This need is heightened during adverse weather conditions, where seamless clearance becomes even more critical.

Building on our earlier deployment of QR code clearance, facial recognition has now been incorporated into the clearance process, resulting in a further reduction in clearance timing and a more seamless clearance experience. 🛣️

This reflects what sustained collaboration and shared commitment to innovation can achieve in public service delivery.

💪 We look forward to continuing our partnership with ICA to further enhance checkpoint operations.

MTX - Milipol TechX 2026 has come to a close, and we’re grateful for the time spent learning, listening and exchanging perspectives.

Beyond the showcases and sessions, what stood out to us at NEC APAC were the open conversations about real-world constraints, evolving public expectations, and the shared responsibility to design security that works with people, not just around them.

Events like Milipol TechX are valuable because they bring the ecosystem together - governments, agencies, industry and partners, each contributing a different lens, each shaping the conversation in their own way.

As we move forward, we carry with us fresh perspectives and renewed confidence in the role we play in supporting safer, more trusted societies across the region.

Day 1 at Milipol TechX 2026 ✅

Our first day at MTX - Milipol TechX 2026 was off to a strong start. We were honoured to welcome distinguished guests to the NEC booth, including 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐡 𝐏𝐞𝐢 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫‑𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐘𝐃𝐇 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐤 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢 𝐌𝐨𝐡𝐝 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝 𝐈𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐥, and 𝐈𝐂𝐀 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐌𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐇𝐮𝐚.

Throughout the day, we showcased how NEC’s technologies enable fast, secure identity verification in public safety and border operations - from supporting quick‑scan land border clearance, to a look at what’s next: identification on the move, combining long‑range iris recognition (up to 3 metres) with facial recognition.

Looking back on Day 1, it’s clear that meaningful progress starts with honest conversations, and we’re glad to have had many of them at Milipol TechX 2026.
