Just before midday Monday the 25th of May, we started experiencing a very large DDoS attack against our network. Both our teams and the teams of several of our partners have been working late into the night to restore services. We have been successful, but there is more work to do today.
Right now, we are still experiencing a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) to all parts of our infrastructure. We are actively investigating and taking measures to mitigate the impact on our services. Some customers may be experiencing intermittent connectivity issues, increased latency, or temporary service disruptions while mitigation efforts are underway. If you are, I am sorry you are being affected and we want to get you fixed ASAP.
We believe services are currently operating normally for traffic routed within New Zealand. However, international traffic continues to experience intermittent degraded performance. Websites utilising CDNs or services hosted outside New Zealand may be intermittently affected, and external monitoring systems may incorrectly report affected services as unavailable. We are working with our upstream provider to adjust DDoS protection settings and optimise mitigation measures.
Our support team are replying to support tickets as quickly as we are able to. Status updates are being posted inside the dashboard to https://myhost-clients.com/ - but we are aware some customers may not be able to login to see this, so it appears we are completely down and not communicating with you.
If you have emailed us and haven't heard back please comment below with the following information:
- If you're in New Zealand who your Internet provider (ISP) is. This can be obtained from https://www.whatismyip.com/ if you do not know.
- Whether you can see the https://myhost.nz or https://myhost-clients.com website
- Whether your email service is working.
These 3 details would be incredibly helpful in us understanding the shape of the issue for our customers.
