COSDEF Arts & Crafts Centre is a Namibia-based social enterprise that offers training in the creative and design sectors. We strive to provide value-added outlets for local products, enabling people from all walks of life to express their creativity. Our main courses include Graphic Design, Fashion Design & Accessories, Jewelry Design & Manufacturing and Leather Design & Manufacturing. We have als

o established partnerships with other enterprises within the industry to ensure our students gain access to valuable resources. Furthermore, we advocate for continuous learning by providing workshops and seminars that allow us to expand our skillset into new areas. This also gives students the opportunity to enrich existing talents they may already possess by gaining additional knowledge through these activities. Fashion is more than clothing; it’s creativity, craftsmanship, and a way of bringing ideas to life.

Our Fashion Design & Accessories program gives aspiring designers the opportunity to learn practical skills, from garment construction and pattern making to sewing techniques and accessories design.

Students gain hands-on experience while building the confidence to grow their creativity and prepare for opportunities in the fashion industry.

Have something you’ve been creating? This is your chance to put it in front of the community.

Vendor applications are now open for Spring Into Creativity, taking place on 9 October 2026 at the COSDEF Arts & Crafts Centre.

We’re inviting artisans, makers, small businesses, food vendors, and creative entrepreneurs to be part of a market that celebrates local talent and brings people together through creativity.

Whether you’ve been in business for years or you’re ready to showcase your products for the first time, we’d love to have you there.

This is more than a market. It’s an opportunity to connect with new customers, meet other creatives, and grow your visibility within the community.

People often ask what we do at COSDEF, and the answer is simple. We give people the tools to learn, create, and grow.

Through creative and vocational training, entrepreneurship support, and practical learning, we equip aspiring creatives with the skills and knowledge to pursue employment, start businesses, and build sustainable livelihoods.

At COSDEF, our students learn by creating, designing, and making things with their own hands. Every lesson is an opportunity to develop practical skills, gain experience, and grow in confidence.

The OYETU Craft Innovation Competition 2026 was a wonderful celebration of creativity, innovation, and the incredible talent of Namibia’s artisans.

A heartfelt thank you to Pastor Kevin Mwashama for the opening prayer and Paavo Kamtukwata, Executive Manager of COSDEF, for officially welcoming our guests.

We also extend our appreciation to Hon. Cllr. Suama Kautondokwa, Mayor of Swakopmund, for delivering the keynote address; Samuel Sheyanena for presenting the OYETU Project overview; Rosalia Neshuku, owner of Namutse, for her inspiring motivational address; Fransina Beukes for the participants’ remarks; and Adelheid Gertze, Acting Centre Manager, for the vote of thanks.
