Right, so this is actually mad. The most powerful AI ever released to the public went live… and three days later the US government had it switched OFF. For everyone.

The model is Claude Fable 5. Anthropic launched it on June 9th and it instantly topped almost every benchmark out there. Then on June 12th, at 5:21pm, Anthropic got a directive from the US government , citing national security, an export-control order saying no foreign national, anywhere in the world, was allowed to access it.

Here's the catch: Anthropic can't realistically check the nationality of every single user. So the only way to actually comply… was to shut the whole thing down. For everybody. Hundreds of millions of people, cut off overnight.

So what triggered it? One demo the government was shown — a "jailbreak." Someone basically got Fable 5 to do the one thing it's meant to block: they handed it a codebase and asked it to find the security holes inside. (A jailbreak is just clever wording that sneaks past an AI's safety rules and gets it to do something it would normally refuse.)

Anthropic is pushing back hard. They say it's a narrow, non-universal jailbreak , not a master key that breaks every safeguard, and that finding flaws in code is something other AI models already do, used every day by security teams to keep systems safe. In their words, pulling a tool used by hundreds of millions over this one thing is "a misunderstanding," and they're working to restore access as fast as they can.

But here's why it actually matters: this has never happened before. The federal government has never reached in and pulled a live, publicly-deployed AI off the market like this. That's a huge line to cross, over who gets to decide which AI the world is even allowed to use.

Did you know your business could be paying for server capacity it is not even using?

That is where serverless architecture can make a real difference. Serverless does not mean there are no servers. It means your business does not have to manage, maintain or constantly pay for them.

Instead, your system can:

✅ Scale automatically as demand changes
✅ Charge you based on actual usage
✅ Reduce maintenance and infrastructure overhead
✅ Help you build and launch faster
✅ Remove the stress of managing servers yourself

For growing businesses, this means more flexibility, fewer technical headaches and infrastructure that grows with you.

At Pixel Penguin, we believe in lean, managed systems that do exactly what your business needs, without unnecessary cost or complexity.

Could serverless be a better fit for your next project? Drop us a message. 😉

Why is Starlink not allowed in Namibia?

A small box that streams the internet from space. In most of the world you just buy one. In Namibia… it's illegal.

98.6% of the public said yes. The regulator said no.

This is a calm, neutral documentary about WHY — and about something bigger than one company: the freedom of choice.

We look at the official reason (Section 46 — a licence holder must be at least 51% Namibian-owned), and then we ask a simple question: how evenly is that rule actually applied? Because mining only needs 15% local ownership. The banks holding your salary have South African parents. Foreign satellite internet is ALREADY legal here — just the capped, costly kind. Meanwhile 23 African countries said yes to Starlink, and tiny Lesotho handed it a 10-year licence.

This isn't about attacking a decision. A country has every right to say no. The real question is quieter than that: out on a silent farm under the biggest sky on Earth, when the one state network fails — and there is no second door — do people get to choose at all?

What do you think — should Namibians have the choice? 👇

For thirty years, a hidden empire sold the world its pictures — the fake handshakes, the smiling teams, the woman laughing alone with her salad. Two billionaires raced to buy up every image on Earth, and for a while, they won.

Then the machines learned to dream.

This is the story of how stock photography conquered the internet... and how AI is quietly killing it.

Inside:
• How two billionaires bought up the world's images — and history itself
• Why the same fake photo ended up on every website on Earth
• How AI went from 2.5% to nearly HALF of a major stock library in under 3 years
• The collapse: photographers earning cents per download, 58% losing work
• The cruel twist — the machines were TRAINED on the photographers' own photos
• Getty's landmark 2025 lawsuit against an AI company... and how it mostly lost
• Why the agencies now SELL their archives to the very AI replacing them
• The 2025 mega-merger, and what's actually left for human photographers

Is photography dead? No — a machine can't stand in a real war, a real wedding, a real riot. But the cheap, generic middle that built the empire is already gone, and the machines only get faster.

Would you still pay for a stock photo? Let me know below. 👇

For two decades, one piece of software quietly ran the internet, at its peak, WordPress powered over 40% of every website on Earth. Then, in 2025, the giant started to shrink for the first time ever.

This is the story of how WordPress conquered the web... and how AI is slowly killing it.

Inside:
• How WordPress took over (free, open-source, no code)
• The Upkeep Trap, endless updates, fragile plugins, and why it's the most-hacked platform on the web
• Why your content gets locked inside its database
• The rise of AI website builders, brilliant for simpler sites, in minutes, for a few dollars a month
• WordPress's first sustained decline since tracking began in 2011
• The 2024 civil war that hit at the worst possible time
• WordPress fighting back with its own AI builder

Is WordPress dead? No, it still powers more of the web than anything else. But for the first time in 20 years, the giant is shrinking, and the machines replacing it only get faster.

Would you still build your next site on WordPress? Let me know below. 👇

I've been updating the AI Radio as a personal experiment, making some changes to the website to play content randomly instead of following a traditional radio format. It's funny and intriguing to see how AI handles this – everything on the radio is just a parody, and you can even skip DJ talking and songs!

It's fascinating to explore the capabilities of AI in this playful context, and I'm curious to hear what you think about it! For now, it's just a fun experiment, but who knows where it might lead?

Check it out here: https://innowave.app
