Malaysia’s digital progress must also widen opportunity.
At the Malaysia STEM Leadership Summit 2026, organised by International Business and Economic Forum, TM Chief Corporate Officer Nor Fadhilah Mohd Ali shared TM’s industry perspective on why STEM matters to nation-building — not simply as an education agenda, but as a way to broaden who can participate in the opportunities created by an increasingly digital economy.
As she put it, “We should not sit at the end of the education pipeline and simply ask for better graduates. If we want future-ready STEM talent, industry has to help create the opportunities through which that talent can develop, contribute and grow.”
That perspective was complemented by Prof. Dr. Ooi Chee Pun, Dean of MMU’s Faculty of AI and Engineering, who highlighted the importance of developing students not merely to use today’s technology, but to become the people capable of creating what comes next.
Through MMU and Yayasan TM, alongside initiatives such as TM Future Skills and Yayasan TM TVET Madani, TM continues to invest across the talent journey, contributing alongside the academic community and Government to strengthen the pathways that prepare Malaysians for the opportunities ahead.
