Yesterday we marked another milestone in our mission to transform lives through digital opportunities.

We proudly graduated 40 young people from our across the –Nairobi Cluster.

The most powerful moment of the day wasn't just the certificates; it was hearing a participant share her journey. Through the skills she gained, she is now earning online, transforming her own life, and supporting her family. Her story moved everyone in the room. It reminded us why we do what we do.

At PAWATECH SOLUTIONS, we have learned one important lesson: young people do not lack potential; they lack opportunity.

When given the right skills, mentorship, and access to digital work, they don't just find jobs; they restore hope, create income, support their families, and become agents of change in their communities.

Every graduation is more than an event. It is the beginning of new dreams, new incomes, and new possibilities.

To our #40 graduates, congratulations! You are proof that with determination and the right support, transformation is possible.

An average of KSh 9,000 earned within just eight weeks of training.
To some, that's a number. To these graduates, it's independence. It's the first proof that their skills have value in the global digital economy. It's income they earned through their own talent, not a handout, but an opportunity turned into results.

Imagine the trajectory. If eight weeks can generate a first income, what could twelve months of experience, repeat clients, and growing expertise create?

This is why we believe 's greatest resource is its young people. When we invest in skills, mentorship, and opportunity, we don't just change individual lives; we create a ripple effect that strengthens families, communities, and the economy.

We were honored to have . Mwaniki, Lydia Sereya, and Purity Wanyeki join us to celebrate this important milestone. Your presence and encouragement made the occasion even more meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to all our trainers, mentors, partners, and everyone who continues to believe in the power of empowering young people through digital skills and remote work.

The future belongs to those who are prepared for it, and today, #40 more young people are ready.

"Mum, don't worry about the rent anymore... I'll take care of it."

Before you scroll, take a moment to listen to Ritah's story in this video.

Those words may sound simple, but to a mother who has spent years carrying every burden alone, they mean everything.

Today, those words come from Ritah Mayian, one of the young women from Cohort 2.

Through digital skills and online work, Ritah Mayian is now paying her mother's rent.

That isn't just an income story.

It's a story of sacrifice being honoured.

It's a story of a daughter giving back.

It's a story of hope replacing worry.

As Ritah Mayian shared her journey during our graduation, we were reminded that the true impact of digital skills and remote work programs isn't measured by earnings alone; it's measured by the lives that are transformed because of those earnings.

Her story is one of many emerging from our program. Behind every learner is a family finding hope again, a parent breathing a little easier, and a future being rewritten.

At PAWATECH SOLUTIONS, this is why we do what we do.

We don't just create freelancers.

We create opportunities for young people to restore dignity, strengthen their families, and become the answer to someone else's prayers.

Ritah Mayian, thank you for reminding us that one opportunity can change an entire family's story.

Watch her story and tell us: What part of Ritah Mayian's journey inspired you the most?

This impact would not have been possible without the unwavering support of Compassion International Kenya. Thank you for investing in the potential of young people and helping turn hope into opportunity

*Why Freelancing Training Should Be Introduced to Every Young Person Immediately After High School.*

The transition from high school to adulthood is one of the most defining periods in a young person's life. For many graduates, it is marked by uncertainty, long waits for university admission, anxiety about what the future holds, and choosing the right career path. At the same time, the world of work is evolving rapidly. Employers are increasingly seeking practical digital skills, while businesses across the globe are embracing remote work and hiring independent professionals online.

This changing landscape presents an opportunity that education systems can no longer afford to ignore. Introducing freelancing training on current in-demand skills equips young people with practical, income-generating skills, preparing them not only for employment but also for entrepreneurship and participation in the global digital economy.

*Helping Students Make Productive Use of Their Time in College*
One of the greatest advantages of introducing freelancing training immediately after high school is that students enter college or university with marketable skills they can use to earn an income. Rather than spending their free time solely on social media or other unproductive activities, they can work on freelance projects, build professional portfolios, and gain practical experience while pursuing their academic studies.

Because freelancing offers flexible working hours, students can schedule projects around their classes, allowing them to balance education with income generation. By the time they graduate, they are not only degree holders but also experienced professionals with an established client base and a proven work history.

*Developing Financial Management and Independence Early*
Financial literacy is an essential life skill, yet it is rarely taught comprehensively in traditional education. Freelancing exposes young people to real financial responsibilities from an early age. As they begin earning, they learn how to budget, save, invest, manage taxes where applicable, price their services, and plan for future financial goals.

Early financial independence also helps young people reduce dependence on parents or guardians, contribute to household expenses, finance their education, and make informed financial decisions. These habits create a strong foundation for long-term personal and professional success.

*Preparing Young People for the Real World of Work*
Many graduates enter the job market without understanding workplace expectations or employer needs. Freelancing bridges this gap by exposing learners to real clients, project deadlines, quality standards, professional communication, teamwork, and performance-based evaluation.

Unlike classroom simulations, freelancing provides real-world experience where learners must consistently deliver quality work, respond to client feedback, solve practical problems, and meet deadlines. These experiences make them more confident, adaptable, and job-ready, whether they choose formal employment or entrepreneurship.

*Cultivating a Culture of Continuous Learning*
The digital economy changes rapidly, with new technologies, tools, and client expectations emerging every year. Freelancing teaches young people that learning does not end after completing a course or earning a degree. To remain competitive, they must continuously update their skills, embrace new technologies, and adapt to changing market demands.

This mindset of lifelong learning prepares young people to thrive in an economy where adaptability and innovation are among the most valuable professional assets.

*Building Confidence and Professional Identity at an Early Age*
Freelancing allows young people to experience the satisfaction of earning through their own knowledge and skills. Successfully completing projects, receiving positive client feedback, and building a professional portfolio strengthens their confidence and sense of purpose.

By the time they complete higher education, they have already developed a professional identity, built networks, and gained valuable experience that distinguishes them from many of their peers entering the job market for the first time.

*Conclusion*
The future of work is digital, flexible, and increasingly global. Preparing young people for this future requires more than academic knowledge; it demands practical skills that enable them to earn, innovate, and adapt to changing economic realities.

Introducing freelancing training immediately after high school would empower an entire generation to become financially independent, globally competitive, and economically productive from the very beginning of adulthood. Rather than waiting for opportunities, young people would be equipped to create them. Such an investment would not only transform individual lives but also strengthen families, communities, and national economies for years to come.

From Curiosity to Confidence 🚀
At just 12 years old, from SIBILO confidently presented his Smart Home project during our Coding and Robotics Project Showcase. Standing before trainers, the Project Director, and fellow learners, he demonstrated not only how his innovation works but also its real-world impact, which is a remarkable achievement for such a young innovator.
Before joining the program, Felix had limited exposure to technology. Today, he can design, build, and confidently present technology solutions thanks to hands-on training in coding, robotics, electronics, and problem-solving. His journey is a reminder that when children are given the right opportunities, they develop not only technical skills but also confidence, creativity, and the courage to think big.
At PAWATECH SOLUTIONS, we believe education is about more than learning to code it's about nurturing the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers. Felix's story is living proof that investing in young minds today creates the technology leaders of tomorrow.

On Friday, PAWATECH SOLUTIONS and CodeWithKids proudly hosted the ENJOY AI KENYA Championship 2026 in partnership with ENJOY AI and SDG Academy.

It was more than a robotics competition; it was a powerful reminder that dreams are not defined by geography.

Children traveled from different parts of , including some of the country's most marginalized and underserved communities, to stand on the same national stage, compete with confidence, and showcase their creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills through coding, robotics, and artificial intelligence.

Watching learners from places like , , Kiambu, Muranga, and collaborate, innovate, and excel was a powerful reminder that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. When we provide children with access to technology, mentorship, and quality , we give them the chance to dream bigger and compete with the best.

Technology has the power to erase borders. It doesn't matter whether a child comes from a remote village or a major city—when given the right tools, they can stand on the same platform, solve the same challenges, and build the same future.

We are incredibly proud that our teams have qualified to represent at the ENJOY AI Global Finals. They are not only carrying our flag; they are carrying the hopes and aspirations of many young people who now believe that their background does not determine their future.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to ENJOY AI, , , our coaches, teachers, parents, volunteers, and every partners who made this vision a reality.

As Kofi Annan once said:

"Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress."»

Together, let us continue ensuring that every child—regardless of where they are born—has an equal opportunity to learn, innovate, and shape the future.

World Youth Skills Day 2026 | Skills for a Shared Future
Today, on World Youth Skills Day, we celebrate the incredible potential of young people who are transforming their lives through digital skills.
At Pawatech Solutions, we believe that the right skills, combined with mentorship and access to opportunities, can change lives. One inspiring example is Austine Ekeno, whose journey demonstrates the power of digital freelancing and graphic design.

I discovered the power of digital work when I started earning online through TimeBucks. That experience inspired me to learn graphic design, and it has since become a rewarding career. Since gaining these skills, my life has changed, and I have realized that there is a strong demand for talented graphic designers.
Today, I work with four Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) and one Member of Parliament (MP), creating graphic design content for them. Through this journey, I have learned that freelancing is not a scam—it is a legitimate career path that creates real opportunities, financial independence, and sustainable income.
The income I earn is helping me build my future. I am saving to start a boutique business while also preparing to finance my university education. My message to every young person is simple: invest in your skills, remain consistent, and embrace freelancing because it is a real opportunity that can transform your life. — Austine Ekeno

Stories like Austine's remind us that skills are more than certificatesthey are pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, financial independence, and lifelong opportunities.
As we mark this year's World Youth Skills Day, we reaffirm our commitment to equipping young people with market-driven digital skills, connecting them to meaningful work, and supporting them as they build sustainable careers.
To every young person: Invest in your skills today, because the opportunities of tomorrow belong to those who are prepared.
Happy World Youth Skills Day! Together, let's continue empowering youth, one skill at a time.

Learning is only truly meaningful when its impact can be seen and measured. It can be quantified through tangible results and earnings, and qualified through the learner’s ability to independently apply acquired skills to solve real-world problems and create opportunities for themselves.

At PAWATECH SOLUTIONS, we are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of refugee girls participating in the Digital Freelancing Program in Kakuma. The smiles on their faces said it all as they successfully withdrew the dollars they had earned through online freelance work.

Using skills gained during the training, these young women secured and completed research-related gigs, demonstrating both competence and professionalism in the digital marketplace. Their success is more than just income earned; it is proof that digital skills can unlock opportunities, restore confidence, and create pathways to economic independence.

In a place often defined by hardship and limited opportunities, these achievements are inspiring a new narrative of hope. The girls can now earn a decent income, compete in the global digital economy, and work from the comfort of their homes.

This success would not have been possible without the strong partnership between Solidarity Initiative for Refugees (SIR) and PAWATECH SOLUTIONS. We extend our sincere appreciation to SIR for their commitment to empowering refugee communities and investing in opportunities that enable young women to build sustainable livelihoods through digital skills and online work.

Together, we are not only teaching skills but creating pathways to dignity, self-reliance, and hope for a brighter future.
