We’ve just wrapped up another round of detective meet‑ups in Wrocław, Lublin and Łódź — and with them, a new set of solved mysteries. No kidding — a few more cases and we might actually qualify for professional investigator licenses! 😄

After many team outings to escape rooms, we decided to try detective game sets that can be played at home (or in the office! 😉). It turned out to be a great way to integrate, test our analytical skills, teamwork and logical thinking — and simply have a fun time together. No surprise that more and more teams are eager to step into the role of investigators.

We tackled cases of varying complexity, sifted through countless clues and misleading leads, and held long discussions to connect all the dots. And all of this in an atmosphere straight out of a crime series.

Every team successfully completed their investigation, showing consistency, engagement and excellent collaboration. After so many shared cases, we can probably call ourselves our very own company detective club.

Hard to imagine today, but querying data once meant waiting 4–24 hours 😅
Punch cards, physical queues, operators, batch processing… and only then your results. Even if the machine needed just a few minutes, the real wait was measured in hours.
Today, the same task takes milliseconds, right from your phone.
Do you think we’d have the patience back then? 👀

We had a truly inspiring evening at our DataArt Kraków office last week!🚀 The Polish Java User Group meetup that we had the pleasure to host was filled with insightful discussions, a huge dose of knowledge-sharing, and the amazing energy of the Java community.

This time, we were excited to welcome two outstanding speakers to our stage, who shared their expertise and experience through two highly engaging talks.

Our own expert from DataArt, Igor Yamshanov, PhD, CBAP, CPOA, with more than 18 years of experience as a Business Analyst and Product Owner, spoke about how to efficiently gain domain knowledge in new projects and why understanding business context is essential for making informed decisions. He shared a practical approach to understanding processes, identifying key dependencies, and asking the right questions from the very beginning of a project.

Igor also prepared a special bonus for attendees — a prize for the most interesting question: a one-on-one consultation on any topic related to his area of expertise. There were so many great questions that choosing the winner was definitely not easy!

The second session was led by Haoyi Li, who demonstrated how JVM languages can be used as modern scripting tools and serve as an interesting alternative to traditional Bash or Python-based solutions. The session included plenty of hands-on examples, live coding, and a fresh perspective on the JVM ecosystem.

It was great to connect with the Kraków tech community!

“We would get 2 or 3 buses of people coming from Ukraine a day.”

When Russia’s full‑scale war in Ukraine began, DataArt Poland turned its offices into a lifeline for colleagues and their families.

Under the leadership of Jarosław Diatczyk, the team supported more than 1,000 people relocating to Poland, arranging buses, housing, language lessons, school integration, and helping with everyday life in a new country.

This story is not only about logistics – it’s about a people‑first culture: divided families finding safety, Ukrainian engineers integrating into local IT communities, and a leadership style that treats work, family, and humanity as equally important.
