With the current energy and water crisis in Hungary, we also want to do our part, just as the responsible ministry, and has asked everyone in Hungary to do.
To be honest, reducing our electricity consumption isn’t the biggest challenge for us. 😄
Our office and warehouse only use a modest amount of electricity: around five computers, a microwave, a coffee machine (that one stays ☕), air conditioning, and one electric pedestrian forklift. (Other colleagues are in home office or working from abroad)
Starting Monday, we’ll switch to using our gas-powered forklift instead, and we won’t be charging the electric pedestrian pallet truck between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM.
To reduce air conditioning usage even further, shorts and flip-flops are now officially approved office attire. And if the Hungarian summer really decides to show off, our colleagues are also welcome to apply sunscreen. ☀️
Regarding our water consumption: We mainly use it for washing our hands and cleaning our lunch boxes after lunch.
The ironic part? As a business water consumer, the water network pipeline fee for us is around 10X higher than the cost of the water we actually use. Sometimes it feels like transporting the water is worth much more than the water itself. 😅
Jokes aside, every small effort counts.
Hungarian SMEs have faced plenty of challenges over the years, and we’ll get through this one too.
🇭🇺 Make the Hungarian SMEs great again!
