Professionalism is not only about technical skills, it is about the standards, ethics, competence and responsibility with which we apply them.

As part of Day 3 of National ICT Week 2026, the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH) hosted the Tech Professionals Forum, bringing together ICT professionals, industry leaders, academia and key stakeholders for a focused conversation on:

“Professionalism, Standards and the ICT Ecosystem for National Development.”

The discussions reinforced an important message: as Ghana continues to scale its digital ecosystem, we must equally strengthen the professional standards, competencies and accountability frameworks that support it.

Key conversations explored:
* The future of Ghana’s ICT profession and why professionalism matters;
* Why innovation at scale must be matched by professionalism at scale;
* The importance of professional standards to students, practitioners, businesses and public institutions;
* Building a more inclusive ICT profession;
* Developing industry-ready ICT professionals for Ghana’s digital economy; and
* Strengthening collaboration between industry, academia and professional bodies.

The forum also featured keynote presentations, panel discussions, case studies and knowledge-sharing sessions demonstrating how professional communities and institutions can contribute to capacity development and a stronger national ICT ecosystem.

As technology becomes increasingly central to our economy, public services and everyday lives, professionalism cannot be an afterthought. Ghana needs ICT professionals who are technically competent, ethical, accountable, continuously learning and committed to recognised professional standards.

We appreciate National Information Technology Agency, our speakers, panellists, partners, members and participants who contributed to this important conversation.

The future of Ghana’s digital economy will depend not only on the technologies we build, but also on the quality and professionalism of the people who build, manage and govern them.

🚀 IIPGH at National ICT Week 2026

The Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH) was proud to partner with the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) for the just-ended National ICT Week 2026 at the Cedi Conference Centre, University of Ghana, Legon.

Held under the theme “Innovation at Scale: Creating Opportunities Across Ghana’s Digital Ecosystem,” the week brought together government institutions, industry leaders, ICT professionals, academia, innovators, students and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for strengthening Ghana’s digital future.

For IIPGH, National ICT Week provided another important platform to advance our commitment to ICT professionalism, capacity development, innovation, professional standards and collaboration across Ghana’s technology ecosystem.

Throughout the week, our members and representatives engaged with stakeholders, shared knowledge, built new connections and contributed to important conversations on the skills, standards and partnerships required to sustain Ghana’s digital transformation.

A major highlight of our participation was the Day 3 Tech Professionals Forum, hosted by IIPGH, which focused on “Professionalism, Standards and the ICT Ecosystem for National Development.” We will be sharing more highlights and key takeaways from that session separately.

We extend our appreciation to NITA, our partners, members, speakers, participants and all stakeholders who contributed to the success of National ICT Week 2026.

📸 Here are some highlights from an inspiring week of learning, networking, collaboration and advancing Ghana’s digital ecosystem.

Together, we continue to build a stronger, more professional and inclusive ICT ecosystem for Ghana.
