Esoko Commissions Community Farmer Terminal in Kranka to Boost Agricultural Services
Esoko has commissioned a new Community Farmer Terminal in Kranka, Nkoranza North District, aimed at improving farmers’ access to agricultural services, market opportunities, and post-harvest support.
The commissioning ceremony brought together farmers, community members, traditional leaders, agricultural stakeholders, development partners, and government officials to mark the opening of the facility, which is expected to enhance agricultural productivity and strengthen market access for local farmers.
The Community Farmer Terminal is designed as a one-stop agricultural service center, providing commodity aggregation, modern storage with a capacity of 15 tonnes, weighing and drying facilities, agronomic support, and access to agricultural inputs, clean cookstoves, and solar-powered irrigation equipment. The initiative is expected to reduce post-harvest losses, improve produce quality, and increase farmers’ incomes by bringing essential services closer to farming communities.
Among the dignitaries who attended the event were the District Chief Executive for Nkoranza North, Hon. Effah Patrick; the Nkoranza North District Director of Agriculture, Ahmed Innusah Issifu; the Kintampo South District Chief Executive, Hon. Wilfred Zuuri; and the Kintampo South District Director of Agriculture, Mrs. Afia Asokua Ofori.
The officials applauded Esoko for the initiative, describing it as a significant investment in rural agricultural development. They encouraged farmers to make full use of the facility to improve production and marketing while appealing to Esoko to extend the Community Farmer Terminal initiative to more communities across the Bono and Ahafo Regions.
The Kranka facility forms part of Esoko’s broader plan to establish more than 1,000 Community Farmer Terminals across Ghana. The initiative seeks to create accessible collection and service centers that connect farmers to markets, advisory services, and modern agricultural technologies, contributing to sustainable rural development and improve livelihoods
