“Do you cover my area?” 🤔

It’s one of the questions I’m asked most often!

Today I’m working in Rochester, but the truth is I cover a huge area. From South East London to North West Kent, Central London, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, West Malling, Maidstone and pretty much everywhere in between.

Whether you need help with a slow computer, laptop repairs, upgrades, data recovery, Wi-Fi issues, advice on a new device or just someone to make technology behave itself, there’s a good chance I’ll come to you.

Book your appointment or read my reviews here https://linktr.ee/ourtechnician

In fact, some days I can be in Bromley in the morning, Rochester at lunchtime and Maidstone by the afternoon! 🚙

So here’s a challenge…

Comment below with where you’re reading this from and let’s see just how far this post reaches. Better still, share it into your local Facebook community group and let’s find out how many towns and villages we can cover!

This Friday I’m taking on my next fundraising challenge as I continue my cycle around the Kent coastline, riding from Whitstable to Deal – a 55-mile journey in support of CASPA. 🚴🏼🚴🏻‍♂️

Last year I completed the ride from Bromley to Whitstable, and this year I’m picking up where I left off, following more of Kent’s stunning coastline and hopefully enjoying some great views along the way (and the odd ice cream or 2) 🍦

Just like last year, I’ll be joined by my Dad, Gerry, and together we’ll be pushing ourselves to reach the finish line while raising both awareness and vital funds for CASPA Autism Online, a charity that provides invaluable support to autistic children, young people and their families.

I’ll be sharing updates, photos and videos throughout the day, so follow along with our journey on Friday.

If you’re able to, please consider supporting us with a donation. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps CASPA continue the amazing work they do and gives us that extra motivation when the miles start to add up!

Thank you for your support. 🚴‍♂️💚

Did you know that I don’t just repair, service and recycle computers? I also provide technology advice, consultancy, and can even supply new equipment when needed.

This customer had been using a 13-year-old iMac that had served them brilliantly over the years. It had done everything they needed, but due to age, compatibility issues and a hardware fault, the time had come for an upgrade.

After booking a consultation with me, we discussed their requirements, budget and the best technology options available in 2026. One of their main priorities was keeping a large screen while staying within a sensible budget.

Rather than replacing the iMac with another all-in-one system, we chose a Mac Mini paired with a high-quality monitor. The result? A setup that perfectly met their needs while saving them around £600.

Technology can be confusing, and it’s easy to spend more than you need to. If you’d like honest advice, help choosing the right equipment, or even your own personal technology shopper, feel free to get in touch.

Recently, I had the pleasure of donating two refurbished laptops to Living Well Bromley

Both laptops were originally donated by members of the local community during one of my Tech Reuse & Recycling Days collaborating with The Hub from Greener & Cleaner and Bromley Libraries. Rather than ending up as waste, they were given a second life through refurbishment and are now helping people in our community.

One laptop has been provided to the food bank team to support their day-to-day work, while the second has been donated to a guest who was in need of access to technology.

The laptops were refurbished with new storage and fresh operating systems, with one running Linux Mint and the other running ChromeOS Flex, providing secure, reliable, and easy-to-use devices.

This is exactly why I run these recycling events. Old technology still has value, and with a little time and effort it can make a real difference to individuals and organisations who need it most.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated unwanted laptops and IT equipment. Your generosity is helping reduce electronic waste while supporting people in our local community.

If you have old laptops, PCs, or other IT equipment gathering dust, please get in touch. Together we can keep technology out of landfill and put it back into the hands of those who can benefit from it.

Hot enough for you? 🔥

Your laptop won’t be enjoying this heat either, especially if it’s clogged with dust, packed with dried-out thermal paste, and hasn’t had a proper clean in years. 💻🌡️

Overheating can slow your laptop down, cause random shutdowns, and shorten its lifespan. A full internal clean and thermal paste replacement can make a huge difference to both performance and longevity.

This one was completed onsite, just like all of my appointments. No need to leave your device at a shop.

Get in touch today to keep your laptop running cool and happy.

Ever wondered what’s inside an iMac? 👀

This iMac had completely ground to a halt and was constantly showing the dreaded spinning colour wheel. It had become so slow that the customer decided it was finally time to get it looked at.

After visiting, I could tell the hard drive was struggling. I ran an offline drive test which confirmed the drive was at fault.

The replacement parts were ordered and just two days later I returned to fit a newer, faster drive. macOS was reinstalled and, most importantly, all of the customer’s data was successfully recovered.

Another iMac brought back to life 🚀

Yesterday I met with Jo from the The Chartwell Children's Cancer Trust, where I donated a tablet that will be used with their new AV robots.

These robots allow children undergoing cancer treatment to remain involved in school life and continue interacting with their classmates and teachers while away from the classroom. A small robot sits in the classroom, and through a tablet the child can see lessons, communicate with their peers, and stay connected — helping to reduce isolation during an incredibly difficult time.

This tablet, alongside your donations and support, helps make that possible, so thank you very much. If you have any tablets under 7 years old that you no longer use, please do consider donating them, as they can make a real difference in situations like these.

A reminder that my next donation day will be at Bromley Libraries West Wickham library next Friday 22nd between 11 and 1.
