Twenty-five years is a long time in any industry - but especially in marketing, where technology, platforms and ways of working have changed beyond recognition, it's even more remarkable.

This month, Michelle is celebrating 25 years at MindWorks!

Over that time, she's seen the business evolve, supported countless clients, and played a significant role in shaping the agency we are today.

From launching the Mary Rose Museum, to organising pan-European vintage car rallies, Christmas lights switch-ons and family events, it's safe to say there has been plenty of variety along the way. Between 2018 and 2025, Michelle also led the company as Managing Director, helping steer the business through one of its most challenging periods during Covid.

As Michelle puts it: "If variety is the spice of life, then my time at MindWorks has been five chillies!"

Congratulations Michelle, and thank you for everything you've contributed to MindWorks over the last 25 years đź’™

Earlier this week we welcomed Lucy from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance as we officially handed over the cheque from last year's fundraising efforts.

Thanks to everyone involved, we’re proud to have raised £1,807.14 to support the incredible work the charity continues to do across the region.

It was also great to spend some time hearing more about the progress of Operation Airbase, along with some exciting ideas already taking shape for the year ahead.

Continuing as our house charity for 2026, we’re really looking forward to supporting the team however we can over the coming months 💛💚

Complex data is rarely the problem. More often, it is how that data is structured, presented and accessed.

The Farm Business Survey (FBS) has supported English agriculture for nearly 90 years, providing trusted, anonymised data on the physical and economic performance of more than 1,500 farms each year on behalf of DEFRA.

We designed and produced the new Farm Business Survey website and The Field Book: Farm Business Survey Key Results 2024/25, with a focus on making detailed agricultural data clearer, more accessible and easier to use.

For The Field Book, the design challenge was to present complex benchmarking data and gross margin analysis in a format that felt clear, practical and easy to compare. As the report needed to work effectively in print and in greyscale, the design relied on careful hierarchy, spacing, layout and tonal contrast rather than colour alone.

For the website, the focus was on navigation, accessibility and usability. The structure needed to help users move through a large volume of information with confidence, whether accessing key results, exploring the survey, or looking for supporting resources.

Across both the printed report and the website, the aim was the same: to make detailed agricultural data easier to understand, easier to trust and easier to use.

While most of us were enjoying the bank holiday weekend, Ali and Soph were walking 50 kilometres around the Isle of Wight.

They completed the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge in support of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and The Wight Brainy Bunch, raising more than an incredible ÂŁ1,000 between them!

It’s not an easy route at the best of times, but torrential rain and 30mph winds made an already tough challenge even more gruelling. It took a serious amount of perseverance to complete, but they made it all the way to the finish.

A brilliant achievement, and one we’re all incredibly proud of them for 🤍

The colours you see on screen don’t exist in print - at least not in quite the same way.

RGB and CMYK are often treated as just a technical detail, but for designers, that choice completely changes how colour is approached.

Something designed for screen can look bright, clean and vibrant, but when printed, those same colours suddenly feel flatter or slightly off. Nothing has gone wrong in the process, it’s simply been designed in the wrong context.

RGB and CMYK are measured in different ways. RGB uses light, which is why colours tend to feel more vivid on screen, while CMYK uses ink, which naturally has a more limited range. That means the same colour won’t behave the same way across both, even if everything else stays consistent.

For our designers, that means working with a more controlled palette - thinking more carefully about contrast, balance and how colour will appear on a physical surface, rather than relying on the brightness of a screen.

So it’s not just a case of converting files at the end. It’s about understanding where something is going to live from the outset, and designing with that in mind.

Because when that thinking happens early, the work translates properly across every format.
