Happy New Year to all of my customers and best wishes for 2026.

I'm back at work and although I already have some bookings through to the end of February I still have some availability for ad-hoc requirements and support assistance.

My daughter Lily is running her first ever Great South Run this weekend having only deciding to do it, and starting training for it, at the start of this year.

She is raising funds for British Heart Foundation in memory of her grandmother who died suddenly last year.

She has already done so well but if anyone fancies adding to her fundraising pot she would be really grateful.

Hearing reports of Windows 11 users having issues with file previews in File Explorer after this week's updates.

The issue is caused by Windows Security Update (KB5066835). To resolve this issue, go into Settings > Apps > Advanced App Settings > Uninstall updates.

Locate Security Update (KB5066835) and uninstall it. You will need to restart your device once the update has been removed and thenit should all be fine again.

Hope Microsoft will resolve this issue very soon.

The office is now closed until August 14th as I will be on holiday. I may not be abkle to respond top messages left during this time but will do so upon my return.

I am fully booked for the remainder of August and already taking bookings for scheduled appointments in September and October.

Reports coming through today of users not just in the UK but around the world having major Internet connection issues if they have routers manufactured by DRAYTEK.

Draytek are not a brand I use or supply myself, but many ISP's and other support providers do use these devices.

The issue seem to be linked to hackers trying to gain access and take control of the routers. The fix is to apply a firmware update to the router - but if you've got no connection then this isn't possible!
