We had a lovely day on Sunday, doing production for the Blessing of the Waters in Brightlingsea 🌊

🔔 After an address by the Town Crier, a colourful robed procession headed for the town hard, where the Blessing of the Waters took place aboard historic fishing smacks moored at the Town Jetty.

We were proud to be on production duties at the Headgate Theatre last night for the first of two Refugee Sessions, kicking off Refugee Week 2026 in Colchester, our City of Sanctuary. 💚🌵
This year’s theme: Courage.

What a line-up. The night opened with African Drummers, before The Unknowns took the stage, a band who first met in 2022 at weekly music workshops in a central London asylum hotel, run by the charity Hear Me Out. They fuse styles from the Middle East, Europe and Africa, singing about homeland, family and hopes for the future. 🌍❤️
Brilliant performances too from Aksa, Kwaku, Alex, Ardavan and Marwan, including spoken word, solos and songs about exile, memory and the future. ⭐️

🌟Credit to David Smith and Colchester Unite Against Racism for putting on such a successful and meaningful event, as well as all the important groups that helped to fund it, so that events like this one can be free to all: City of Sanctuary, Counterpoints Arts, Arts Council England, Hear Me Out and Music Action International

Refugees are no burden, they’re an example. Glad to have handled the sound and production so these stories could be heard. ❤️📖

Another cracking year at 15th Music Day 🎸

There’s honestly no better way to spend a bank holiday than surrounded by the best music in the heart of Rowhedge.

Huge shoutout to for making the whole thing happen, and all for a fantastic cause!

Was a pleasure to be back running the desk and making sure the sound was clear, easy and accessible in a smaller venue.
