A provincial nomination can be the fastest way to boost your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. When a province or territory officially nominates you, you receive an automatic 600‑point increase. That jump often moves you from the waiting line into the invitation pool almost overnight.
Here’s how to make the most of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP):
1. Identify the provinces that match your skills, work experience, or education. Each province has its own list of occupations in demand.
2. Review the eligibility criteria carefully. Some streams require a job offer, while others focus on education or language scores.
3. Prepare the required documents early – language test results, educational credential assessments, and proof of work history.
4. Apply directly to the province’s nomination stream before submitting your Express Entry profile. A nomination letter can be added to your profile later.
5. Keep your Express Entry profile up to date. Once you receive the nomination, the 600 points are added automatically and you become eligible for the next draw.
