Check your Windows 11 Version! Something extra came out on Saturday and you should make sure it is installed. To get to the correct place type about in the search bar on your task bar and look for the option to open "About your PC" (in Settings). Check to see if the OS Build is either 26200.8039 and 26100.8039. If it is not then it might be waiting to install! Head over to Updates (go back to search again if you don't see to the left. If you don't see 2026-03 Update KB5085516 waiting you can check for new updates, try rebooting and search again.

How annoying are these? If you run across one, the trick is to zoom in. The top clocks in a row show the time in digital format. That is the order you are suppose to touch the analog clocks below but they are sometimes slightly rotated so 12 is not always at the top! Hard to see without zooming in a bit! Starbucks Employees were targeted and handed over their details to scammers! Be careful what links you follow in emails. They can be very convincing so always watch the address you land on! Scammers can manipulate and copy all sorts of things but the website address can be a dead give away. Look up to the address - does it make sense? If you email or contact us through our website we will send you a handy security definition sheet so that you can be sure you know a 2FA from an OTP! The list explains what a U2F is and you might think it is the best solution for you if the MFA's are driving you NUTS!

Did you hear that pop??😲 Batteries should not swell up like that! They are suppose to be flat! The pressure from a swelling battery can pop the back off or maybe push up on the keys or the trackpad. The pressure can even crack the case or the screw posts. If your laptop starts to wobble, keys feel off, trackpad is not working or looks lopsided, maybe it feels hot on the keys--- bring it in! Nobody needs an exploding battery story!

Do you remember the "Stranger Danger" warning? It applies to the internet! When those pops ups show up on your screen offering to help... DON'T believe them!! It is NOT Microsoft or anyone with good intentions! If you click or if you call the phone number in the pop up you will just bring an expensive mess into your life. If you have a virus run your Windows Defender. If your screen is locked try to get out of the lock with Ctrl+Shift+Esc and then close the browsers. If you get caught up in a scam ignore what they say about it being dangerous to turn your computer off. Just turn it off. If you need help give us a call! 403-309-2405

Calling all Shaw email users!📣

Did your SHAW.CA email suddenly stop working? We have seen this issue several times now. If your Shaw.ca email still works ok in webmail but Outlook and iPhone Mail app have lost the connection. Log into your Shaw webmail and check your settings. There is a little ☑ checkbox that needs ticked off!

How did it get unchecked - that part is a mystery. Something on Shaw end. You didn't do it.

Follow the steps. That should fix things BUT if you have already made it worse by trying to fix it you can come get some help.

p.s. a few people still use POP settings so if IMAP doesn't resolve issue, click the other checkbox too and enable POP connections.

Did you close the browser but forgot to set the bookmark or print the recipe? You can bring -all- your tabs back in one click. Even from a few days ago! Go to the 3 dots on the browser and then down to history, look for the recent folder(s) or a folder with tabs from the "other day" and open that. There you have it! All your tabs! Now you can fisnish what you missed. 3 dots/History/Recent Tabs.

Windows 10 lives to see another year. This is an unexpected turn of events! To get in on the extension you will have to be proactive. It isn't automatic and it isn't free but if your computer is running ok you don't have to give up on Windows 10 quite as soon. For personal computers the cost is minimal. For business computers there are some additional considerations. Its more expensive but the period can be extended up to 3 years! Check your Microsoft Account for details or give us a call. Just be sure you are on the correct site when signing up (and paying). You know that the scammers will latch onto this quickly.
