SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. In plain terms, it's how you help Google understand exactly what your business does and who you serve.
Here's how it works:

You optimize your website so Google clearly knows your business and your target audience.
Google rewards you by showing your site to the right people.
You get traffic, completely for free. No ads. No cost per click. Ever.

Done right, SEO compounds over time and becomes one of the most powerful growth channels your business has.
Want to know where your site stands? Let's talk.

Every business owner wants more clients. But before you spend a single dollar online, you need to understand your timeline, know your options, and make a smart educated choice based on the predicted ROI. That is what separates businesses that grow from businesses that just spend.

If your pipeline is slow and you need clients now, paid ads are your answer. You pay for visibility, Google puts you in front of the right people, and leads come in while your budget is running. Fast, measurable, and controllable. That's your short-term strategy.

SEO is your long-term strategy and it's how you build a sustainable lead generation machine. It works like a business relationship. The more trust and credibility you build with Google over time, the more organic leads you attract without paying for every single click. It requires continuous improvements to your website targeting your ideal clientele and patience, but over time it pays off big time.

Our Recommendation for Most Business Owners: The 60/40 Split
📈 60% Paid Ads to fuel your short-term growth now
🌱 40% continuous SEO effort to build your long-term asset that compounds over time

Keep in mind this is a general starting point. The right split will vary depending on where your business is right now, your goals, and your budget.

Most small business websites have one of two problems: visibility or conversion.

Visibility = people can't find you online.
Conversion = people visit but never reach out.

Start by asking yourself:
→ How much traffic am I getting monthly?
→ How many visitors are actually contacting me?
→ If they're not contacting me, what ARE they doing?

Once you know which problem you have, you know where to focus. 💡

Does your business run on word of mouth? That's amazing! And here's something most business owners overlook.

When someone refers you, that new contact may do their due diligence online and learn more about your business before they ever reach out. If your website isn't there or doesn't make a good impression, you risk losing a warm lead that someone else worked hard to send your way.

A simple, clean website can be the difference between winning or losing that referral.

Most new business owners make this one website mistake without even realizing it.

You come in with skills, talent, and drive. But online, going too broad is actually hurting you.

The more specific you are about what you do and who you serve, the better your website performs.

Niche down. Watch what happens. 🚀

Ever wonder why some businesses get clients easily, while others struggle to even get noticed?

There's a marketing principle called the Rule of 7, and it might just change how you think about your online presence.

The idea is simple: before a potential customer decides to buy from you, they've typically had multiple interactions with your business.

On average that number is around 7, though it can be less or more depending on your industry and reputation. Some of those interactions are silent. They Googled you, landed on your website, saw your listing. Others are more direct, like a phone call, a DM, warm introduction from your referral partner or just simply reading a review.

Here's a real-world example:

Let's say someone is looking for a landscaping company in their area. Here's what one journey might look like:

1. Searches on Google, your listing shows up
2. Visits your website to learn more
3. Follows you on social media
4. Sees a post or blog you shared from the website
5. Comes back to your site
6. Reads through your reviews
7. Finally calls or books a consultation

But here's the thing. Not every buyer takes the same path. Someone else might call you first, then check your reviews, then visit your website before making up their mind. Another person might find you on social media before they ever Google you. The order varies, the entry point varies, and the timeline varies.

What stays consistent is this: every touchpoint matters, and your website and Google presence show up across almost all of them.

This is exactly why your website isn't just a digital brochure. It's a trust-building machine. It raises awareness, builds credibility, and guides your future clients through the decision of whether you're the right fit for them.

No website? Weak SEO? You're invisible for most of that journey, no matter which direction someone comes from.

At SelexWeb, we don't just build pretty websites, we build with strategy. Every page, every word, every SEO decision is intentional, designed to support your buyer's journey from that first Google search all the way to that first conversation with you.

Is your website working for you or losing you customers?

On average, over 60% of web traffic comes from mobile devices. Depending on your industry, that percentage may be much higher or lower. Here is why that matters for your business.

Imagine you are a residential plumber. Your target customers are homeowners who are often searching for help in a hurry. Because of this, you will likely see far more mobile users than other industries. Most homeowners reach for their phone before a desktop when they have a plumbing emergency.

On the other hand, if you are a corporate commercial law firm, you might see more desktop users. Your ideal customers are business owners or executives who typically use a desktop environment for their research and high-level decision making.

Since July 5, 2024, Google has stopped showing sites that are not mobile-friendly. They are actively removing them from search results entirely. This means that if your site does not work on a phone, you will simply not show up when customers search for you.

We can help you stay compliant with mobile friendliness and accessibility. Our team tests your site on all major browsers and devices to make sure it works perfectly for everyone while meeting Google's strict standards.
