🚨 The electronics supply chain is tightening again.

Recent market updates are showing growing pressure on MLCC, tantalum and polymer capacitors, with demand from AI infrastructure, data centers, automotive and industrial applications competing for available capacity.

For some capacitor families, lead times are extending significantly, while pricing pressures and tighter allocation are adding further complexity to supply planning.

For OEMs, early visibility is becoming even more important. A few things can help:

🔹 Share forecasts early to give supply chain teams better visibility into upcoming demand
🔹 Review BOMs for potential risks, particularly long-lead and constrained components
🔹 Plan purchases earlier where possible, before availability becomes more limited

We are pround to share that DSM co-founders Duane Macauley and Sherman Cunningham accepted the 2026 Canadian Business Excellence Award for Private Businesses, recognizing DSM’s commitment to customer satisfaction, employee engagement, innovation, and business performance.

As Duane Macauley, President and CEO, reflected during the ceremony, 26 years ago, he, Sherman Cunningham, and John Geissler started Dynamic Source Manufacturing in Calgary with a vision to bring world-class electronics manufacturing capabilities to mid-market OEMs right here in Canada.

Today, Dynamic Source Manufacturing Inc. has grown across North America, with facilities in Calgary and Arizona, supporting technology companies across energy, industrial, communications, defence, automation, medical, and emerging technologies.

It was also inspiring to share the room with strong Canadian companies from across the country, each contributing in their own way to a stronger, more connected Canadian economy and its continued growth.

But what we’re most proud of is what that growth represents: more skilled jobs, stronger local supply chains, and more technology companies able to build and scale their products right here in Canada; and distribute them across global markets.

Today, we came together to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Across Canada, September 30 is a day to honour residential school Survivors, their families and communities, while remembering the children who never returned home.

As part of that recognition, the Dynamic Source Manufacturing team wore orange and took time to reflect on the lasting impact of residential schools and the importance of continuing to learn, listen, and move forward together on the path toward reconciliation.

Skills training is one of the most important investments we can make in manufacturing.

At DSM, ongoing technical training helps our teams stay current with industry standards, apply them consistently, and continue developing their skills as technologies and customer requirements evolve.

IPC training is an important part of this, strengthening workmanship and consistency across our production floor and helping us maintain the quality our customers expect.

As our certified IPC Trainer, Sarita Saini, says:
“Quality starts with making sure our people have the right skills and understand the standards behind every build. Through IPC training and hands-on support on the production floor, we help our team build consistently and deliver the quality our customers expect.”

On-time delivery is one of the most important measures of manufacturing performance. For our customers, it means greater predictability, fewer disruptions, and confidence that products will be there when they need them.

At DSM, our 12-month rolling on-time delivery performance across major manufacturing programs is >99%.

Achieving that level of performance takes coordination across the entire manufacturing process, from incoming materials and inventory management through production and final shipment.

As Michael Wadden from our Shipping & Receiving team puts it: “From coordinating incoming materials and managing inventory to making sure orders are shipped accurately and on time, my role is all about keeping things moving so our customers get what they need, when they need it.”

For our customers, a high on-time delivery rate is more than a performance metric. It means predictable supply, fewer disruptions, and confidence that DSM will deliver when it matters.

As our production capabilities continue to grow, so does our investment in the equipment and automation behind them.

At Dynamic Source Manufacturing Inc., that investment is ongoing, with several recent additions to our production floor supporting everything from precision dispensing and PCBA de-panelization to solder paste inspection, conformal coating curing, and automated material management.

🔹 5-axis precision dispense machines — adding automated dispensing capabilities for gasketing, staking, bonding, and under-fill applications.
🔹 Automated mechanical routing — supporting consistent and efficient PCBA de-panelization.
🔹 Additional bake oven capacity — increasing capacity for conformal coating curing.
🔹 A new 3D SPI system — strengthening solder paste inspection and print process control early in the SMT process.
🔹 Additional automated material storage — expanding component storage capacity and supporting efficient material management on the production floor.
