October is Circular Economy Month - a perfect time to turn sustainability into action. ♻️

Host an electronics recycling event with ERA and give your team an easy way to responsibly recycle unwanted laptops, computers, phones, tablets, and other electronics.

With ERA, your event can help:
• Reduce e-waste
• Promote technology reuse
• Support local charities and community organizations
• Strengthen your sustainability initiatives
• Keep retired technology in circulation longer

Reusable devices are securely processed and given a second life whenever possible, while non-reusable electronics are responsibly recycled.

ERA is bringing its technology reuse mission to New Zealand!

For more than 20 years, the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) has helped give unwanted technology a second life while reducing e-waste and supporting communities in need.

Now, we’re expanding that mission across New Zealand—working with businesses, schools, government agencies, charities and community organizations to:
• Reuse and refurbish unwanted technology
• Reduce electronic waste
• Provide secure data destruction
• Responsibly recycle end-of-life electronics
• Help communities access much-needed technology

Have retired computers, laptops, smartphones, tablets or other IT equipment? Give your technology a second life with ERA.

Together, we can build a more circular and digitally inclusive New Zealand.

🌎 8 ERA regions
💻 38,653 items requested

Organizations submit their technology needs, approved requests are added to the directory, and donors can search by organization, region, status, or equipment type to find the right match.

Closing the Digital Divide Starts with Technology Reuse!

A computer can open the door to education, employment, healthcare, and connection-but not everyone has access to the technology they need.

Every year, businesses retire thousands of computers that still have plenty of life left. Through secure data destruction, professional refurbishment, and responsible reuse, the ERA helps transform these devices into valuable resources for charities, schools, nonprofit organizations, and individuals across Canada.

By choosing to donate retired IT equipment instead of disposing of it, organizations are doing more than reducing electronic waste-they're helping create opportunities for learning, career growth, and stronger communities.

Together, we can build a future where technology is accessible to everyone.
