The Role
Do you find yourself analysing why a game is fun while you’re playing it? Do you constantly think about how a specific mechanic could be improved?
As a Game Design Intern, your primary "office" will be the games themselves. You will spend your time playing a wide variety of titles across Mobile, Web, and Desktop platforms. However, this isn’t just about playing you will be playing with a purpose. You will break down core mechanics, study player loops, document your findings, and gradually transition from analysing existing games to designing your own features and systems under the guidance of our senior design team.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
• Analytical Playtesting: Play a diverse range of games across Mobile, Web, and PC/Desktop platforms daily to study genre trends, user experiences, and core loops.
• Mechanic Deconstruction: Reverse-engineer and document game mechanics, progression systems, monetization models, and UI/UX flows.
• Design Documentation: Translate your gameplay notes into clear, structured Game Design Documents (GDDs), feature sheets, and flowcharts.
• Feature Ideation: Participate in brainstorming sessions and slowly take ownership of designing small features, levels, or systems for internal projects.
• Competitive Analysis: Keep a pulse on the market by tracking new releases, updates, and live-ops strategies in the gaming industry.
• Playtesting Support: Assist the team in playtesting internal prototypes and providing structured, actionable feedback.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements)
• A Deep Passion for Gaming: You play games across multiple platforms (Mobile, Web, PC/Console) and understand the nuances of different genres.

• Strong Communication Skills: You can write clearly and concisely. You are able to translate complex gameplay ideas into easy-to-read documents.
• Curiosity & Humility: You are eager to learn, open to constructive feedback, and excited to grow from a "gamer" into a "game designer."
• Basic Tool Familiarity: Comfortable using documentation and collaboration tools like an Office Suite, Trello, Canva. (Bonus points if you’ve ever used Unity, Unreal, or Godot, but it is NOT required!)
What You’ll Gain
• Mentorship: Direct guidance and regular 1-on-1s with experienced Game Designers and Developers.
• Portfolio Building: The opportunity to create professional design documents and feature pitches that you can showcase in your portfolio.
• Industry Insight: A behind-the-scenes look at how a game studio operates, from ideation to production.
