⚡ Well… today’s office view comes with an unexpected “lights out” feature.

Due to an Essential Energy planned outage affecting our area today, the STM office is currently without power, so I’ll be working remotely in full “laptop lifestyle” mode for the day. 💻☕📶

The good news is our cloud phone systems and remote support platforms are still fully operational, so business continues as normal from a service perspective. You can still contact us via phone, email, remote support, or the helpdesk as usual.

Sometimes regional IT means swapping the server room for a mobile hotspot and a coffee shop table. 😅

Big news in the tech world this morning — Tim Cook has confirmed he will step down as CEO of Apple on 1 September 2026 after 15 years in the top job.

He won’t be leaving Apple completely, instead moving into the role of Executive Chairman, while John Ternus — currently Apple’s Senior Vice President of Hardware Engineering — will take over as CEO. (The Guardian)

It really marks the end of a major era for Apple. Tim Cook took over after Steve Jobs and during his leadership Apple grew from a company valued at around $350 billion to more than $4 trillion, while also launching products like the Apple Watch and AirPods. (MarketWatch)

The big question now is what direction Apple takes next — particularly around AI, where many believe the next CEO will have plenty of work ahead.

It’s great to see local investment back into Wauchope, and even better to see a strong local team assembled with familiar faces who understand the community and what people here actually need.

Having Darren, Mel, Michael (Fish), Jacob and the wider team on board gives locals real confidence that hardware, building supplies and practical advice are once again close to home — and gives many of us a genuine reason not to have to head into Port Macquarie every time we need something for a job, project, or repair 🔧🏡

Wishing Govind every success with this new chapter. Supporting local business matters, and this is a very welcome addition to Wauchope.
