Our family business has been operating in Ingham since 1960 and is now third generation! My parents started Kev Brown & Co and were predominately Signwriters and Automotive Refinishers in Trebonne until 1996 when my wife and I took over the Pinstriping and Signwriting section and renamed the business Hinchinbrook Tinting Signs & Lines to eventually be changed to Significant Signs. I personally did

24 years as an Automotive Spraypainter with my Parents before we took over so we have a very strong knowledge base regarding the industry. We have travelled as far as the Las Vegas Sign Expo to expand that base and use the latest Roland Versacamm VS 640 Printer/Cutter and the highest grade materials. We also offer a range of window treatments including Frosting, Decorative and Tinting. I was personally trained by Peter Heuke of Capricornia Sun Control Townsville some 17 or 18 years ago with using 3M Films and we are one of only a handful of businesses in Queensland who are actually 3M Scotchtint accredited installers. We see an increase of Ai infulence in everything these days and the Signage Industry is certainly one area where it has really taken off. We have customers coming in every other day with either sign layouts or logos they have produced on an Ai platform. Years ago a customer would hand you a business card and ask you to make a sign off it but now with Ai they get the opportunity to basically design what they want and then at least we can just go ahead and work on getting that idea to a quality level fit for larger signs. A good example is this one attached from the crew at Vac It. Callan & Tyneale came up with this design and we rebuilt it suitable for any size signage! A couple of sponsor signs we put up after our Tully trip today! As we all know Felix Reitano Furniture and Real Estate have been around for a while and as their logo had been handed on from one format to another it needed a "face lift". In the 30 years I have been Signwriting we have wrapped everything from a Mix Master, Guitars, Rubbish Bins and Dash Panels all the way up to 8.5 metre Plate Boats. I personally still get the same pleasure from doing the smallest job as I do the largest! I also love the Graphic Art side and here at Significant Signs we have have kept abreast of changes not only in the Materials and Equipment we use but also with Digital Technology. Ai is now something we work with every day with customers presenting us with their logos and layouts done in Chat GPT and similar programmes! Exciting times ahead in our industry and I love every minute of it!
