ππ¨π¦πππ, πππ πππ β President Hakainde Hichilema has thanked Zambians for entrusting him with another mandate to lead the country, pledging to return to work with renewed determination to deliver meaningful development across the nation.
In a message of gratitude to the Zambian people following the election, President Hichilema said he was humbled by the confidence placed in him to once again serve as Head of State.
βThank you, Zambia!β Hichilema said, describing the renewed mandate as a responsibility to continue serving the people.
The President said the election had demonstrated Zambia's identity as a peaceful, democratic nation that resolves political differences through the ballot box and within the framework of law and order.
He reflected on the campaign period, during which he and his team travelled across all 116 districts, visiting cities, compounds, villages and farms.
According to Hichilema, the extensive campaign trail gave him an opportunity to witness first-hand the challenges facing citizens across the country, reinforcing his commitment to working with Zambians to address those challenges.
He also acknowledged citizens who supported opposition candidates, saying his administration had heard their concerns and would continue working to ensure that every Zambian benefits from the country's development.
βTo those citizens who preferred the ideas presented by our opponents, we hear you, and we will continue to work for you,β Hichilema said.
The President further said the campaign had left him with lasting memories of the children he encountered across the country, pledging to build a better Zambia for the next generation.
He assured citizens that his administration would now devote its energies to development and progress, with unity, cooperation and a shared national purpose guiding the next phase of his leadership.
βNow we must work harder than ever before to deliver meaningful development for every single Zambian, in every corner of our country,β he said.
Hichilema described the election as hard-fought but said that, with the people having spoken, the country must now shift its attention towards building greater peace and prosperity.
He concluded his message by reaffirming the national spirit that has long defined Zambia: βOne Zambia, One Nation, One people.β
