LEVISON ZIWA WINS KASENENGWA UPND PRIMARIES IN LANDSLIDE, CALLS FOR UNITY AHEAD OF GENERAL ELECTION.

Aspiring Member of Parliament Levison Ziwa has secured a decisive victory in the United Party for National Development (UPND) primary elections for Kasenengwa Constituency, winning all eight wards with 296 out of 329 total votes cast.
Ziwa addressed party members and residents today following the announcement of results, describing the win as _“a victory for unity, democracy, development, and the people of Kasenengwa.”_
“Today, I come before you with a heart full of gratitude, humility, and renewed determination,”_ Ziwa said. _“This victory is not for Levison Ziwa alone. To every delegate, supporter, youth, woman, and party member who believed in my vision and voted for me, I say thank you. Your confidence in me is a responsibility I do not take lightly.”_
He thanked the UPND leadership for conducting what he called a _“peaceful, transparent, and democratic primary election process”_ and commended his fellow contestants — Undi, Charles, and Aram Ngombe — for their peaceful participation.
“Elections may come with competition, but after today, we remain one family under the UPND banner. The real task ahead is not division, but unity and hard work as we move together toward victory in the general election,”_ he added.
Ziwa said the results show Kasenengwa is ready for _“servant leadership that listens, delivers, and puts the interests of the people first.”_ He pledged to focus on education, farmer support, youth and women empowerment, roads, and health services if adopted and elected as MP.
“The New Dawn Government under President Hakainde Hichilema has laid a strong foundation through free education, economic reforms, youth empowerment programs, and agricultural support. I am ready to complement these efforts and ensure that Kasenengwa fully benefits from government programs and national development initiatives,”_ Ziwa said.
He called on youths, women, farmers, and the business community in Kasenengwa, promising to work with all residents “regardless of political background, tribe, age, or status.”_
“Let us now put aside differences and move forward together with one purpose delivering victory for the UPND and development for Kasenengwa Constituency,”_ he said.
Ziwa urged party members to remain peaceful and focused as the UPND prepares for the official adoption process ahead of the general elections expected later this year. Parliament was dissolved today, Tuesday, 12th May 2026.
