We are very happy the local council allowed us to adopt one of the community parks, we plan to put up a few luxury tents and build 2 cabins for backpackers and a small cocktail bar & restaurant.

There is an information gap in the Zambian economy, thank God for the internet that gap is slowly closing. Safari Hive understands the power of human interaction and the role it plays in bringing about social economic development. We are very fortunate as a country that we have beautiful tourism resources which has helped us connect with the rest of the world and develop an appreciation for nature and a love for adventure. Now imagine just how this whole eco system can work to our advantage on a larger scale and help us rebuild our economy. Thousands of people visit Zambia every year, they have certain professional skills that we need and they are also looking to share them with people they meet and leave a foot print in their lives. Where others offer financial aid others prefer skills aid is more meaningful and has a huge impact to the person who receives it, you can run out of money but you cannot forget a skill to help u acquire even more money. Sometimes backpackers/travelers like to offer recommendations of what can be done to improve certain areas through casual conversations with local people. Now just imagine if that information was shared with action oriented people! the results would be phenomenal because those people will act on the advice and apply it to were it needs to work. Our social enterprise is very different from a volunteer placement program because backpackers are at their own time and budget and won't feel a need to live up to any organizations expectations and our setup helps them to stay on budget without incurring additional costs.

I don't want my great grand children's first lion encounters to be staring at dead bones kept away in a museum! i don't want them to be robbed of the thrill and excitement of seeing wild animals for the first time in real life. It is a priceless moment and i want them to have that, so i will stand up and continue fighting for their protection so that the future generation can also appreciate their existence knowing that someone in history cared enough to stand up and fight for their survival.
