Remember the first time you left the geyser on all day, or let a prepaid data bundle run flat in an afternoon? 😅

Microsoft Copilot is heading in a similar direction. It's moving to a hybrid licensing model, which simply means a monthly licence fee for each person, plus pay-as-you-go charges for certain extra features, based on how much they're used.

What's changing:
📅 From 1 December 2026, new Copilot Business licences bought through a Microsoft partner will have pay-as-you-go switched on by default
🆕 It's for new purchases only, so existing licences aren't being converted
🛡️ A preset monthly limit comes with it, and you can adjust it

Pay-as-you-go isn't a bad thing. Quiet month, small bill. But without the right limit, a busy month (or one very enthusiastic team member) can still bring a surprise.

Three easy habits:
✅ Ask what your limit is, and who can change it
✅ Turn on usage alerts
✅ Check in once a month

Here's the easy fix: use a password manager. It makes strong passwords for you and remembers them, so you only need to remember one. Your brain gets a break and your accounts stay safer. Everybody wins (except the cyber criminals).
