We were at the Kings Secure Technologies Innovation Day at the Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club today.

Dean Field and Daniel Morrissey BSc were at the DeepAlert table in the Arden Suite, meeting KST’s clients and colleagues and talking through how video analytics can help monitoring teams filter out false alarms and respond to genuine risk.

This year’s theme, The Future Threat Landscape: Protecting People, Places & Data, brought together a strong mix of technology partners, with presentations running through the day alongside the exhibition and outdoor demos.

Thank you to KST for hosting.

“Innovation” might be the most overused word in our industry. Everyone claims it. Very few deliver it.

But AI is moving at a remarkable pace, and it’s now making real innovation possible: getting far more intelligence out of the cameras and infrastructure already in place.

In our experience, real AI innovation takes two things:

A deep understanding of the underlying technology

Close engagement with the people using it, so you know the real problems and where the tech can actually add value

That’s what our partnership with KSOC is built on.

Together, we’re putting AI video analytics to work so KSOC and their clients get more from their existing surveillance infrastructure.

We’re delighted to be exhibiting at their Innovation Day.

If you’re going, come and find us. Bring your use cases, your operational headaches and the problems you haven’t been able to solve yet, and we’ll look at whether AI video analytics can get you more value from your cameras.

See you there.

We’re pleased to welcome Manguard Plus as a DeepAlert client.

Manguard Plus delivers integrated security services across corporate, regulated and critical environments, supported by its 24/7 EN50518-certified Command & Control Centre.

With a strong focus on hybrid security, Manguard Plus combines technology, monitoring operators and physical response teams to deliver coordinated security services.

DeepAlert's AI video analytics will help their operators filter out unnecessary CCTV activations and focus on genuine events, improving verification and supporting faster response.

As the Manguard Plus team puts it:

“AI detects. Our people assess. Our teams respond.”

That's exactly where effective AI video analytics adds value. Less noise reaching the control room, better information for operators and more time to focus on events that require action.

We look forward to working with the Manguard Plus team.

AI models are never static.

Because the world keeps changing.

A model might have to recognise the same person across a crisp new IP camera, an older low-resolution feed, heavy rain, winter light, a completely new environment or a scene it has never encountered before.

You can’t show it every version of the world in advance.

So we build models that generalise well, deploy them, and keep learning from what happens in the field.

Where does confidence change?

Why?

Is something unexpectedly similar to the object we want to detect?

Has a new camera, scene or condition shifted the balance?

Then we investigate, retrain where needed, test against unseen footage and make sure an improvement in one area hasn’t come at the expense of another.

Repeat.

That’s what “constantly improving” really means.

Continually refining a strong model as the world it needs to understand keeps changing.

If you run a control room, which difficult scenes or conditions would you most like video analytics to handle more confidently?

Last Friday we joined skyral executive security services at the Marist Brothers Linmeyer Golf Day at Glenvista Country Club, part of the school's 60-year celebrations.

Clear skies, good company and plenty of time on the course together. A big thank you to the Skyral team for having us along for the day.

Congratulations to Marist Brothers Linmeyer on 60 years.

Your PPE policy probably isn’t the problem.

The gap is what happens between inspections.

Supervisors can’t be everywhere at once, and spot checks only capture a moment in time.

Video analytics can help identify repeated PPE exceptions across specific areas, using the camera infrastructure already in place.

The goal isn’t to monitor individuals.

It’s to spot patterns that may point to a wider issue: poor signage, an inconvenient PPE station, inconsistent briefing or a higher-risk work area.

Aggregate patterns, not individual scorecards.

Our latest article looks at how video analytics can support PPE compliance, where the technology fits, and the privacy and governance considerations that need to come with it.

Detection is the easy part.

The real test is what happens next.

What does this event mean for this particular site?
What is the operator authorised to do?
Who needs to be contacted — and how quickly?

As video analytics improves and control room queues get cleaner, SOPs have an increasingly important role: adding the operational context that turns a detected event into the right response.

Better detection only becomes better monitoring when operators know what to do with it.

A great few days in Namibia. 🇳🇦

DeepAlert joined Sentinel View at the Namibia Security & Safety Conference and Expo in Windhoek, connecting with security professionals from across the region.

It was a valuable opportunity to talk about the practical role AI video analytics can play in modern surveillance operations, from filtering nuisance alarms and improving operator efficiency to getting more value from existing camera infrastructure.

More importantly, we had some excellent conversations about the challenges security teams are dealing with on the ground, and where technology can make a genuine operational difference.

A big thank you to Deon van der Walt from Sentinel View for having us alongside them, and to everyone who stopped by to meet the team and learn more about DeepAlert.

Great to see the security industry in Namibia coming together. 🇳🇦

When you take over a camera estate you didn’t install, the first job is to establish what’s actually usable.

A quick audit upfront can prevent expensive surprises later.

Our latest Camera Health article looks at what installers and integrators should check before adding monitoring or analytics to an existing estate.

How often do you find cameras non-operational when you take over a site?

A camera estate can be 99.6% healthy and still leave you exposed.

Because not every camera carries the same consequence when it fails.

That’s the problem with a single camera health score.

It tells you how much of the estate has a problem.

It doesn’t tell you where the risk is.

Camera health should be about exposure, not just uptime.
