The infamous Chirundu escarpment in Southern Zambia, the end of many a truck.

Gradient, camber, blind corners, oncoming traffic and a steady stream of fully loaded trucks engine-braking the whole way down. Drivers who know the road respect it, those who don't often learn the hard way.

Driver training is the conversation people skip until something like this happens. Then it becomes the only conversation.

This is a real Fleetsense bulk tank monitoring installation supplying a large haulage operation. Each downward step in the chart is a vehicle drawing fuel. Each upward spike is a delivery from the supplier. Each event carries a timestamp, a volume, and the vehicle that received it - captured automatically because the platform knew which vehicle was at the pump at that moment.

Nobody typed anything. Nobody signed a logbook. Nobody matched a vehicle to a draw at the end of the shift from memory.
