From field deployment to keeping critical systems connected, our team is honoured to stand alongside BigShot Media in showcasing one of Africa’s premier sporting events to an international audience.

We would also like to wish the entire Cape Town Marathon team every success in their continued journey and bid towards becoming Africa’s first Major Marathon — an achievement that would place Cape Town and the continent firmly on the global marathon stage.

Proud to have been part of this operation alongside the incredible team at Wilderness Search And Rescue.

With an owner of OmniComs Africa also serving as an active WSAR member, this was a fully integrated effort — allowing us to align operational requirements on the ground with the right communication support in real time.

From an OmniComs Africa perspective, we supported the operation through the deployment of Garmin inReach devices — fully owned, operated and made available at no cost to the organisation — ensuring reliable communication and live tracking in terrain where conventional networks simply don’t reach.

In these environments, communication is not a convenience — it directly impacts coordination, decision-making and ultimately the outcome of the mission.
