🎃💻 TECH TIP TUESDAY: FRIGHTENING LAPTOP HABITS! 👻

Is your laptop being treated like royalty… or is it fighting for its life? 😂
Your laptop works hard for you, so let's make sure you're not accidentally shortening its lifespan with a few scary habits!

🧛 4 Laptop Habits That Could Haunt You Later:
🔌 1. Using the Wrong Charger
Not all laptop chargers are created equal! Using an incompatible charger can damage your laptop or cause charging problems. Always use a compatible charger with the correct specifications.
🔥 2. Blocking the Air Vents
Using your laptop on a bed, pillow or blanket can trap heat and cause overheating. Keep it on a firm, flat surface so it can breathe!
🔋 3. Ignoring Battery Warning Signs
If your battery drains unusually quickly, your laptop shuts down unexpectedly, or the battery appears swollen, don't ignore it. A swollen battery is a safety risk — stop using the device and get professional assistance.
🧹 4. Never Cleaning or Maintaining It
Dust buildup, poor ventilation and neglected maintenance can contribute to overheating and performance problems. A little preventative care can go a long way!

👻 Don't let bad laptop habits turn into an IT horror story!

🎮 What an AWESOME day at the NWU Geexpo! 💙

On Saturday, 10 October 2026, we had the privilege of being part of the annual NWU Geexpo, and what a fantastic experience it was! 🙌

It was so much fun meeting all the wonderful kids, parents, and the incredibly friendly NWU staff. Thank you for making us feel so welcome! 💙

The gaming corner was buzzing with excitement as the kids got to enjoy some of their favourite games, including Fortnite and Call of Duty 🎯. Some even took on the challenge of the steering wheel and experienced the thrill of racing in Assetto Corsa! 🏎️💨

We also had the privilege of awarding a prize to the Grade 11 IT PAT student winner — congratulations! 🏆🎉 We hope you enjoy your prize!

A big thank you to NWU for allowing us to be part of this wonderful annual event. We truly enjoyed every moment and look forward to many more opportunities to connect with our community! 💻🎮

At Mobile Comp Tech, technology is not just what we do — it's about connecting people, creating experiences, and having a little fun along the way! 😎

🎃👻 TECH TIP TUESDAY – THE GHOSTS IN YOUR COMPUTER! 👻💻

Imagine switching on your computer one morning, only to discover that all your important files, family photos, documents and business information have mysteriously disappeared! 😱

Sounds like a Halloween nightmare? Unfortunately, it happens more often than you think!
Hard drives fail, laptops get stolen, viruses strike and sometimes files simply disappear.

That's why regular DATA BACKUPS are so important!
💡 Here are 4 tips to keep your data safe:
👻 1. Back Up Regularly: Don't wait until something goes wrong. Make backing up your files part of your routine.
💾 2. Keep an External Backup: Use an external hard drive or another suitable backup solution to keep an additional copy of your important information.
☁️ 3. Consider Cloud Backups: Services such as OneDrive can help keep your files backed up and accessible.
🔄 4. Test Your Backups: A backup is only useful if you can actually restore your files when you need them!

⚠️ Remember: If your only copy of a file is on your computer, you could lose it forever!

At Mobile Comp Tech, we can help you find the right backup solution for your home or business.

Don't let your precious data become a ghost this Halloween! 👻

📞 Rather be safe than sorry. Let's get your data protected!
