Lorain Venter plays an important role in translating client requirements into clear, prioritised and achievable development work.

Working closely with developers, she helps define implementation specifications, clarify functionality and ensure that developments and fixes align with client needs. When an error or user complaint arises, Lorain investigates the symptoms, tests possible causes and identifies the root of the problem before specifying a practical solution.

What drew her to Estate Administration is the complexity of deceased estates and the important role a properly drafted will plays in supporting a smoother administration process. She believes one of the biggest misconceptions is that administering an estate is quick and easy.

Dedication, responsibility and perseverance guide Lorain in her work. She particularly enjoys the freedom to approach development creatively while working within legal parameters and client requirements.

If she could choose a superhero’s abilities, she would select Marvel’s Spiral, because a few extra arms would certainly help when everything happens at once!

We're proud to have Lorain as part of the Fennec team.

Consistency matters in Trust administration.

Last month, we explored how structured digital processes can help fiduciary professionals move away from disconnected spreadsheets, emails and manual reminders.

The next step is creating consistency across every Trust under administration.

A structured digital environment can help ensure that each Trust follows the same governance framework, with important activities, decisions and supporting documentation recorded in a clear and auditable way.

This can assist fiduciary professionals with:
• Tracking compliance requirements and deadlines
• Managing Trustee meetings and resolutions
• Maintaining complete records of Trust activities
• Improving visibility across Trust portfolios
• Reducing the risk of critical steps being overlooked

Technology does not replace fiduciary expertise. It supports professionals by providing the structure needed to manage increasing workloads and regulatory expectations more efficiently.

By combining professional judgement with structured digital processes, Trust administration can become more consistent, transparent and accountable.

Our team plays an important role in helping firms find practical solutions for Estate Administration, Trust Administration and Estate Planning.

This month, we are celebrating Sonja, whose role focuses on engaging with firms across these specialised sectors and helping them better understand how Fennec Group can support their administrative processes.

Sonja’s work includes reaching out to firms, understanding their needs and arranging online demonstrations with the relevant people in the firm.

One of the things Sonja values most about Fennec is the support of the team around her. As she explains, working in a specialist environment often requires technical insight, and at Fennec, she is able to call on the knowledge and experience of her colleagues to assist when needed.

For Sonja, the heart of the work is simple: “Estate and Trust Administration made simple.”

Thank you, Sonja, for the role you play in helping firms discover practical solutions for Estate and Trust Administration.

This month, we're celebrating Elizabeth, who heads up sales in the Western Cape and KZN regions for Fennec.

While her role includes sales, it is also strongly focused on building relationships and helping clients feel heard, supported and understood. Estate Administration and Trust work can feel overwhelming, which is why Elizabeth values a people-first approach in every client interaction.

What drew her to the Estate and Trust Administration space is the combination of people and complexity. The work sits at the intersection of law, finance, relationships and legacy, with no two situations being exactly the same.

For Elizabeth, fairness and integrity are guiding values. She believes in treating clients and colleagues with care, respect and consistency, especially in moments where people may be navigating sensitive or stressful situations.

One of the things she enjoys most about working at Fennec is the people and the culture. She values being part of a team where different strengths, ideas and experiences come together through collaboration, support and shared learning.

And if her job had a tagline?
Modern solutions, personal approach.
