Eleven years ago, almost to the day, I started my business. It was one of the most daunting decisions Iβve ever made, stepping into a male dominated industry as a woman, carrying both ambition and uncertainty in equal measure.
Even now, I still have moments of doubt. Moments where I question whether Iβm doing enough or doing it right. But then there are the quieter moments of clarity when I step back and truly see what has been built, what has been sustained, and what has been overcome. And in those moments, Iβm reminded that courage isnβt the absence of fear, itβs choosing to move forward despite it.
Thereβs a saying in golf about a Zola Budd βdrive or put.β If you know, you know it speaks to doing things your own way, even when it looks unconventional. That sentiment has stayed with me throughout this journey. Building a business, leading a team, and showing up for clients requires more than skill it requires authenticity, empathy, and resilience.
Iβve been fortunate to work alongside an incredible team who support our vision and deliver excellence time and time again. Iβm also deeply grateful for the many male mentors and influences who have contributed to my growth and success along the way. Their guidance has been invaluable.
But ultimately, I recognise this truth: it takes me as a woman who is sometimes scared, often challenged, but always determined to keep showing up and leading the way forward.
As we celebrate Womenβs Day in South Africa, I want to acknowledge every woman who is quietly fighting her own battles. The ones building businesses, raising families, leading teams, starting over, or simply trying to hold it all together.
You are stronger than you think. You are more capable than you feel. And you are not alone.
Letβs continue to lift one another, support one another, and walk this journey together with courage, compassion, and conviction.
Weβve got this. β€οΈ
