Broadband Infraco participated in the DCDT-hosted Youth Career Expo in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the June 16 Uprising on 20 June 2026 at Chief Henry Boklein Senior Secondary School (CHB), eNtlaza, Nyandeni Local Municipality.

The event forms part of the government's commitment to empowering young people through access to information, education and training opportunities, digital skills, entrepreneurship support, innovation, and public services.

The DCDT Deputy Minister, Mondli Gungubele and the Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi, conducted a Broadcasting Digital Migration (BDM) oversight visit in the Merafong Local Municipality. The objective of the oversight visit was to monitor BDM decoder distribution and installations and to engage with beneficiaries, bringing content and knowledge to communities.

Broadband Infraco participated in “Powering Gauteng’s Youth Economy through Digital Jobs, AI, Deep Tech and Inclusive Innovation”, held at Sebokeng today.

This initiative reflects the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT) as a national catalyst advancing digital inclusion, AI readiness, and youth participation in South Africa’s digital economy.

Convened under the theme “Powering Gauteng’s Youth Economy through Digital Jobs, Deep Tech, AI, Enterprise Development and Inclusive Innovation,” the initiative is designed as a national digital workforce activation engine converting youth potential into measurable participation in the digital economy.

Broadband Infraco formed part of a Career Choices Symposium Outreach Programme in the Gert Sibande District Municipality, Mpumalanga.
This initiative is part of a national effort by the Department of Basic Education to engage learners, parents, educators, and communities through roadshows that strengthen career guidance and expose learners to a wide range of career opportunities and educational pathways. At this event, BBI empowered learners with information on emerging careers, including those driven by the digital economy.
Broadband Infraco has connected 168 Wi-Fi hotspots, bringing coverage to 30 000 households in this district.
