The deeper meaning of the daily Shlok's after Aarti
The sequence can be reflected upon as three complementary dimensions of spiritual living:
Shiva (Karpūra-gauraṁ) -
Purify your thoughts, cultivate compassion and discover peace within
Vishnu (maṅgalaṃ bhagavān viṣṇu) -
Live with integrity, uphold dharma and contribute to harmony in the world
Devi (Sarva-maṅgala-māṅgalye)
Live with faith, gratitude and the courage to meet life's challenges
Ultimately, the three prayers remind us that a fulfilling life involves three things: transforming ourselves, living responsibly in the world, and remaining connected to the Divine.
