Teknique Studios was founded by Jaco Ferreira in 2004, originally as a general one-man part-time IT business, selling, repairing and upgrading PC's. In 2009, Jaco started working for a local IT business, and Teknique Studios took a backseat for a while. Over time, and due to an increasing demand in the local market, the business started offering graphic design and web design services. Initially th
ese services were very basic, including design of business cards and brochures, general signage design and design of static websites. In 2011, Teknique Studios expanded it's services to include software development with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET. as well as database development with Microsoft Access. More advanced web development services like, ASP.NET database driven websites were included, as well as the introduction of Adobe Flash animation and web components. In 2014, Teknique Studios landed a big contract with SABITA, for a Windows-based software application to be used as a training tool and content management system by SABITA. SABITA provides Health and Safety products and services to the Bitumen industry, of which SANRAL is one of their clients. SANRAL is responsible for the maintenance of the national roads in South Africa. In 2015 we saw a growing market in eCommerce in South Africa. We investigated various eCommerce software platforms and chose nopCommerce because it was open-source, which meant we could apply our C # development skills to customize our eCommerce projects to suit out client’s needs. nopCommerce offers a “free-to-download” platform that allows themes and plugins, and has a comprehensive feature set that allows us to develop amazing and functional eCommerce solutions for our clients. In 2017 we started development work for SagePay South Africa, now called Netcash. We developed a custom payment plugin for nopCommerce that processes payments via Netcash. Our first fully featured custom web application was started in August 2018 for an online Rental Management System for Prepaid_services, https://www.prepaid-services.co.za/ , and we are in ongoing development to this date. We are proud to announce that we are currently working on a new project with Co.Space South Africa and Netcash, adding a Hosted Payment Gateway for processing online payments and Debit Orders for their clients. The project will be complete in February 2021.
