Our new mourning ritual - hydrate, read and create

"The need to be a great artist makes it hard to be a artist. The need to produce a great work of art make it hard to produce any art at all... Fear is what blocks an artist. The fear of not being good enough. The fear of not finishing. The fear of failure and of success. The fear of beginning at all." - Julia Cameron

Building something together as sisters is one thing.
Getting to create together every day is another.

Baah Studio isn’t just a studio.

It’s our shared space to dream, make, and grow side by side.

This is who we are.

Two very different energies.
One shared obsession with creating work that actually means something.

One of us brings the noise, the ideas, the “what if we tried this?”
The other brings the structure, the clarity, the “this is how we make it work.”

Somewhere in the middle… that’s where the magic happens.

We’ve always been this way.

Just now we get to build brands, spaces and experiences together with a sprinkle of joy and fun!

This is Baah Studio.

Illustration and design project for the Old Mutual Insure Broker Awards Roadshow 2024.

In collaboration with True North Agency, we developed a bold event creative and visual identity for an event that travelled across five provinces in South Africa.

The concept, Broker Portraits of Success, celebrated the people behind the industry. We created a series of vibrant illustrated portraits in the Old Mutual Insure secondary colour palette that brought these stories to life across the event experience.

Each portrait was illustrated from scratch, using stock photography as reference to capture realistic features while translating them into a striking, graphic art style.

The artwork carried through multiple touchpoints including:

• Event branding and stage visuals
• Digital invitations and communications
• Name badges and event collateral

Designing work that travels across multiple locations requires visuals that are distinctive, adaptable, and instantly recognisable.

This project was a great opportunity to explore illustration within an event environment and create something that could live across five unique venues while keeping a consistent visual story. And is hands down one of our favorites.

Thank you .co for the opportunity and always trusting us through yhe creative process.
