Last week was BVKE time again! 🥳 🔥

Instead of a knowledge-sharing evening, we had a mid-year update on what's brewing at BV and an open team discussion about what we want to improve going forward 🚀

A few highlights we'd like to share:

💡 We're going to boost our focus on innovation and impact technology - one of our big goals this year is to open-source HybeFlex, our Edtech product that empowers remote learners to have the same learning opportunity and experience as in-classroom learners.

💥 We've kicked off our employee of the month program to celebrate team members who went above and beyond - congratulations to Kutlwano Ncamani for winning our first one, and a big thank you to him for his contributions and hard work 🥳

📊 We reviewed the results of our employee satisfaction survey and had an unfiltered discussion about the results and what actions we should take. We're happy to report that our anonymous survey returned a great satisfaction score, and we'll do regular surveys to track how our team is doing and how we can improve 💙

As usual, we ended the night with drinks and dinner, this time going Italian at Del Fornos 🍕 🍻

Thanks to the team for a great night and we can't wait for the next BVKE! 🎉 💙

Our knowledge-sharing evenings are getting better and better... 👀

For our latest BVKE - Git Pull Yourself Together, we learned about everything GitHub; how it started, the basics, best practices and how we can improve our workflow 👾

We added 2 twists, a live demo of both what and what *not* to do, and an interactive quiz where the team competed against each other to prove who paid the most attention 😆 📝

The live demo was a great way to put learning into practice and resulted in quite a few lightbulb moments, even for our team members using GitHub every day! 💡

We topped the night off in traditional BV style - with pizzas and drinks 🍕 🍻

Give a warm welcome to our new interns! 🚀

As part of our corporate partnership program, these final-year students will receive hands-on training and upskilling from us this year to prepare them for working at one of our partners next year.

Our internship program enables us to provide highly skilled talent to our corporate partners, as well as giving promising students a head start in their careers when they graduate with solid work experience and the opportunity to work at some of South Africa's largest companies.

And there goes another awesome BVKE! 🔥

Last week, we went back to the basics for our knowledge-sharing evening: From Name Resolution to Web Response – The Basics.

This time we added some extra fun with a quiz at the end 💥 everyone battled it out until we crowned the ultimate winner at the end of the night 👑

As usual, we ended the night with drinks and pizza at Bravos 🍻 Thanks to the team for making this another memorable night!

2026 Kickoff: BVKE night! 🚀 🥳

Last week we had our first BVKE for 2026, and it was a party!

We looked back at 2025 - all of our events, achievements, projects, outreach, hiring and team-building days. And wow, it was a busy year for BV 😴

We then got briefed on what we've got in store for 2026 - even more exciting new projects, clients, products, team members, exchange students, etc., etc... 💥 This year is going to be one for the books! 🔥

We topped it off with beers, burgers and eisbeins in true BV fashion 🍻 (okay, the eisbeins are new!)

We can't wait to share another year with you! To 2026 🥂 💙

Botlhale Village 2025 Wrapped! 💙

Last week, we celebrated our year-end with some delicious Italian food and cocktails at Villa San Giovanni 🍕 🍹

We had so much fun looking back at the year, we wanted to share it with you!

2025 was a big year for us 🚀

We had multiple knowledge-sharing evenings, loads of dinners and drinks with the team and an awesome teambuilding camp experience! 🔥

Our team grew so much that we had to get a bigger office, and we hosted 3 international interns completing their degrees with us.

We also did a lot of community outreach, and even took the team to Ghana to present one of our products! Talking about products, we built 3 amazing new platforms to revolutionise marketing, radio, and mailing 🍪

We'd like to extend a sincere thank you to our awesome team for a great year, and to all our followers for your support 💙

Botlhale goes camping! 💥🏕️

Last week, we had our 2025 team-building event and what better place to unwind than the bush? We had so much fun braaing, swimming and telling stories around the campfire 🔥

We also had a cook-off! Everyone split into teams and our panel of judges decided who was the ultimate BV Braaimaster 🥩 It was tough to judge, turns out we have a bunch of chefs in the team 👏

We had an amazing night, even the rain didn't spoil our fun! Thanks to our talented team for the yummy food, good laughs and memories made 💙

We really enjoyed our youth outreach day at Vingerkraal Educational Centre! 💥

Our team held a skills training and technology workshop for the youth community in Vingerkraal. We focused on how young people can use technology to upskill and further themselves, specifically through using AI.

Our outreach programmes are an integral part of our mission to use technology as a catalyst for good and to support underserved communities in South Africa. 💙
