Kulture Imbizo is happy to announce an upcoming collaborative project with Healer Of The World.
THIS IS ME Arts Commissioning & Artist Development Programme:
A female visual arts commissioning and artist development programme that is designed for 15 recent graduates and visual artists that have been practising professionally for over 2 years. It is a 4-month programme that unfolds and extends the subject matters about identity, expression, independence and equality, which prove to be an integral part of thriving womanhood within oneself and the society.
This programme is an opportunity to define self, to create new works of art within the stated subject focus areas and the expansion of one’s portfolio, professional profile and experience.
·A 10-day fully funded residency at Tlholego Village for the purposes of artists’ exchanges through in-depth presentations of their artworks & creative processes, collaborations, and dialogues with written and oral peer reviews.years of professional practice in the arts. The selected artists will receive a monthly stipend of R5 700 for a 4-month duration.
What to expect from the programme;
·Acquire competence in time management, accountability & independence, presentation skills and working with others through collaborations.
·A series of workshops that provide guidelines on how to develop well-structured CVs, biographies and artist statements. Further guidance is provided in writing winning proposals for local and international arts opportunities and funding bodies.
·A 10-day fully funded residency at Tlholego Village for the purposes of artists’ exchanges through in-depth presentations of their artworks & creative processes, collaborations, dialogues with written and oral peer reviews.
·A Gallery excursion with the tour being provided by our independent curator Boitumelo Makousu.
·Professional photoshoot of their final artworks and shooting of a short documentary of the programme.
·A 1-month group exhibition of the final works of art.
Successful graduates/visual artists are expected to;
·Create 4 works of art within 4 months of the programme, All artworks MUST be A1 in size or larger, and must be exhibition ready (framed or unframed).
·Be fully compliant and dedicated for the full duration of the programme.
·Deliver the programme’s requests and expectations within stated timelines.
·Take full responsibility for their time and work. Failure to do any of the stated pointers above will result in the immediate termination of their contract/s.
Visual artists practising within the art disciplines of drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, textile, mixed media and photography can apply for this programme.
Note: All selected participants are expected to provide their own Art materials.

This call is made by Amogelang Pila Ditlhale, A multidisciplinary artist specializing in mixed media art, crafts, illustration and performance art based in Rustenburg, North West. She is experienced in arts facilitation, project management and brand communications.
This programme is made possible by the Art Bank of South Africa, Museum Bloemfontein and the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture under their Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP3). In collaboration with of the World, The Creative Mapping Project, Tlholego Village and Kulture Imbizo Pty Ltd.
